'Ghosted' Ending Explained: Sadie and Cole’s future hangs by a thread in Apple TV+ action-thriller
Spoilers for Apple TV+s 'Ghosted'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Ghosted’ could easily be retitled as ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ because that truly sums up the essence of the film. There’s a lot happening in ‘Ghosted’ with different locations, villains, cameos, and a lot more. At some points, it might be difficult to keep up with the main plot of the movie, but the ending ties it up together quite well because all’s well that ends well, right? Well, for Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ characters that might just be the case!
‘Ghosted’ by Dexter Fletcher is the third movie featuring Ana de Armas and Chris Evans, the first two being ‘Knives Out’ and ‘The Gray Man'. Fans have loved these two together in movies, interviews, and press tours, and that streak will continue in ‘Ghosted’ as well. While there is a lot happening in the 120-minute runtime, at the crux of it all, ‘Ghosted’ is a love story, and doesn’t every love story demand a happy ending?

Who gets Aztec at the end of ‘Ghosted’?
If you have finished watching ‘Ghosted’ and are still reeling from the cameos or swooning over Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, then you might have to rewatch the film just to focus on Aztec. While ‘Ghosted’ was a love story between two very different people, one of the ongoing plots of the movie revolved around Aztec, a biochemical weapon that Sadie Rhodes had to retrieve in order to save thousands of lives, and possibly the world.
At different points of the movie, Aztec lands in the hands of different characters, whether it is Sadie, Cole, Borislov, or Wagner. The final action sequence of ‘Ghosted’ had us at the edge of our seats, biting our nails, because Cole Turner had been used as bait by the CIA to lure Leveque and his men, while Sadie was suspended. ‘Ghosted’ does get predictable at several points during the movie, especially towards the end.
The final showdown includes Cole, Sadie, Leveque, Wagner, and several other characters, all fighting it out for Aztec. As mentioned before, this is a love story and the good guys always win. After an over-the-top action sequence with a comedic cameo from Ryan Reynolds, Sadie, and Cole manage to get their hands on Aztec, while also declaring their love for one another. Well, Cole did that long ago when he flew to London to see Sadie after one date, but that’s beside the point!
Sadie and Cole travel the world
‘Ghosted’ ends on an incredibly romantic and wholesome note, when Sadie meets the Turners. Cole and Sadie talk about how they’re going to spend some time traveling Europe, where Cole will start his research for his book, and Sadie will hunt down her clients. For a moment, there is a question mark over whether Sadie continues being a part of the CIA while being in a committed relationship with a civilian. Well, Cole must have taught her a thing or two about love, plants, and balance, because she continues being an agent while balancing a relationship with Cole.
The villains and Aztec are long forgotten by this part of ‘Ghosted’ and the two characters live happily ever after. If there is anyone who can bounce back this strong from being ghosted, it has to be Cole Turner!
You can stream ‘Ghosted’ exclusively on Apple TV+ from April 21, 2023.
