Ghislaine Maxwell would reportedly often brag about having connections to high profile people at parties, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The British socialite and media heiress, who is currently behind bars due to her alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein, was known to run in the same elite circles as elite billionaires such as Bezos and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

Sources have revealed how Maxwell would reportedly name-drop the aforementioned tycoons while trying to raise funds for her ocean conservation project TerraMar.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, insiders opened up about her former charity and noted that she also mentioned British billionaire Sir Richard Branson.

Maxwell was purportedly invited to Campfire – Bezos' ultra-exclusive book retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2018. However, there is no suggestion or indication that any of the men she claimed to have known had behaved inappropriately.

“She bragged about knowing and her friendship with Jeff Bezos well a few times as I remember," one acquaintance told the outlet. "All I remember is that she knew Bezos well.”

The 56-year-old founder of Amazon and Blue Origin is currently the world's richest man, boasting a net worth of a staggering $178 billion.

Meanwhile, another insider claimed they saw photos of Maxwell with ex-US President Clinton and Pope John Paul II at her Manhattan residence.

“She was a name-dropper," they said. "She had an incredible list of connections that was very impressive to hear of.”

Maxwell is set to face trial next year after allegedly running a sex trafficking ring with disgraced financier Epstein. Several victims have described her as a "pimp" or "madam" for the pedophile.

Ex-Google CEO Schmidt was reportedly an investor in CargoMetrics, a company launched by Maxwell’s rumored secret husband Scott Borgerson. According to a source close to him, Maxwell had not played a part in the funding.

“She was good friends with Eric Schmidt," another source added. "I saw them together at events…I almost thought they had a romantic relationship going on.”

Maxwell is currently remanded in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The daughter of late British media mogul Robert Maxwell is accused of facilitating Epstein's crimes and often participating in the abuse.

Maxwell has been described by a number of Epstein's victims as his chief enabler, who roped in young girls for him to abuse. So far, she has denied any wrongdoing and called the allegations against her "absolute rubbish."

Maxwell and Epstein are claimed to have met not long after she moved to New York following the mysterious death of her dad, who fell off his yacht, The Lady Ghislaine in 1991.

A team of federal agents arrested the British media heiress at her $1-million estate in New Hampshire earlier this month. Investigators said they had been tracking her movements all along and knew she had been hiding out in various locations in New England.

As we previously reported, prosecutors revealed how Maxwell had switched her email address, was ordering packages on someone else's name, and had registered a new phone number under an alias "G Max".
