Gerard Pique may announce engagement to Clara Chia Marti amid Shakira and Lewis Hamilton romance rumors

Sources reportedly claimed Gerard Pique was all set to marry Clara Chia Marti at the end of June

BARCELONA, SPAIN: Amid rumors of a romance brewing between Shakira and Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, the singer's ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique, is getting ready to announce his "engagement" to his girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti. After the soccer star's split from the 'Whenever, Wherever' singer, he and Marti made their relationship public in 2022. Pique and Marti were spotted shopping for a custom-made ring at a jewelry store earlier. 

Pique recently brought up Hamilton during a discussion with his close friend and fellow soccer player, Sergio Aguero, amid rumors that the Colombian singer and the F1 driver were dating. 

'Gerard Pique and Clara Chia are going to get married'

Sources close to Pique and Marti said that the were set to marry in June. Sources said, "Gerard Pique and Clara Chia are going to get married. The ex-footballer and his girlfriend have taken this very important decision. They have also planned the ideal moment to make the good news public. The announcement will be made on another important date for Pique, the wedding of his brother Marc who is going to marry his childhood sweetheart Maria on June 24," per The Sun.

Shakira and Pique broke up in 2022 amid claims that he had cheated on her with Marti. The former power couple share two sons, 10-year-old Milan and eight-year-old Sasha. Since moving to Miami with her sons, the Colombian singer also appears to be moving on because she has been spotted spending time with Hamilton.

Shakira and Lewis Hamilton's 'romance'

According to various sources, the Colombian singer and Hamilton are reportedly keeping things "fun and flirty" after a string of public outings, as per People. An insider said, "They're spending time together and in the 'getting to know you' stage. It's fun and flirty." They were first seen together when Shakira attended the Miami Grand Prix in May, and the two had dinner together later. A few days later, Hamilton and Shakira went boating with some friends. 

After Hamilton's race at the Spanish Grand Prix, they were spotted together again. Some sources close to the so-called couple insisted that they were "just friends."
