George W Bush penned a heartfelt birthday wish for his wife Laura just a day before their 42nd wedding anniversary.

The 73-year-old former president took to Instagram Monday to repost a picture of the former first lady. The Bush Center photo is framed with a 'Happy Birthday' border in honor of her big day on November 4.

"Wishing my lovely bride @laurawbush a happy birthday today… and a happy anniversary tomorrow. I’m a lucky man," George W wrote in the caption of the photo, which shows Lara donning a white lace dress and red lipstick.

The couple has been married for 42 years now, after tying the knot on November 5, 1977, three months after they met on a blind date.

Jenna Bush Hager, their daughter, also wished Laura a happy birthday on Instagram alongside a heartwarming photo of her parents posing with their three children.

Laura is seen in the picture cradling Jenna's three-month-old son Hal. Meanwhile, her granddaughters Mila, six, and Poppy, four, are posing alongside with George W.

"Happiest Birthday to my mama @laurawbush!" Jenna wrote. "Thanks for being our light—and teaching us the adoration of books and cats. No one holds a baby quite like you."

Barbara, Jenna's twin sister, also likely wished their mother a happy birthday as well. However, she does not have a public Instagram account like the rest of the Bush clan.

On the evening of her birthday, Laura launched her first-ever book club with Alexander McCall Smith, the author of "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," at the Bush Center.

"Thank you for giving me the best birthday present. Your beautiful poem, your friendship, and your presence tonight. We’re thrilled to have you here as we kick off my favorite Engage series, a book club," she told the author at the event.
