'Geordie Shore' star Marnie Simpson reveals she's pregnant with her first child amid fears that 'alcohol abuse' may have made her infertile
Marnie Simpson has confirmed that she's pregnant and announced the arrival of her first child after fearing 'alcohol abuse' had left her infertile. The 'Geordie Shore' star and her boyfriend of two and a half years, Casey Johnson, revealed the exciting news that she is four months along.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the couple confirmed that Marnie's baby is due on October 16, but the television personality further admitted that she thought motherhood was something that might never happen for her because of previous "alcohol abuse". She said: "Because I'd done Geordie Shore I'd convinced myself that I couldn't have kids because of all the alcohol abuse."
Marnie and Casey met each other on dating show 'Single AF', and the couple revealed to the publication that Marnie doesn't regret having an abortion when she was aged 19. "When I look back I definitely feel I made the right decision. I don't regret it. I was so young, I didn't have a job, a driving license, or any money."
'X-Factor' star Casey seems to be pretty excited about the upcoming baby's arrival, and he told the magazine about the impending parenthood, saying: "I don't think you're ever ready until it happens, but we're so excited. It feels amazing." MTV star Marnie was previously living with Casey J at her luxurious Bedfordshire pad but revealed in October that the former Union J star had moved back to London.
She last spoke about the couple's relationship in November, when she told the Sun: "I and Casey are taking some time apart. I wouldn't say I am single. We're just seeing where it goes. We have had issues and now we're taking time to figure out what we both want. It's not a split it's a break."
The couple was back together by December, and Marnie candidly said of the duo that they were in "a good place". Towards the end of 2018, the couple also admitted that they were thinking about starting a family. Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday, Marnie said that she visited a fertility clinic to make sure everything was in working order.
She said: "We are thinking about starting a family soon and wanted to make sure we are both able to have kids. I'm just a bit worried all those years getting mortal on Geordie Shore may have done some damage." The 27-year-old star was at the center of many tumultuous love stories on the programme since she was embroiled in a bevy of storylines.
Following her various on-screen dalliances, she moved on to Casey. The star, who released an autobiography last year, touched on her literary skills and when she was asked by therapist Mandy Saligari about her life at school, Marnie, admitted: "I didn’t really do very well at school so I’ve got no qualifications whatsoever."
