Karrie Martin, who plays Ana Morales in Netflix’s Latinx comedy-drama ‘Gentefied’, is engaged. On March 3, Tuesday, the actor took to Instagram to make this announcement.

Sharing a photo of herself with her longtime-boyfriend and now-fiance Ryan Lachney, she wrote: “Y’all... today has been beyond special. SURPRISE!! I’m engaged!!”

She added, “This year has been a complete whirlwind and it’s only March.” Further quoting Rapunzel from ‘Tangled’, she wrote: “You don’t need someone to complete you. You just need someone to accept you completely.”

According to People Magazine, the proposal took place during a surprise trip to the Grand Canyon in January. Lachney reportedly proposed while the two were on a road trip together to move Martin from Louisiana to Los Angeles.

During the trip, the couple stopped at the Grand Canyon, where Lachney popped the question. “It was completely unexpected and beyond magical,” Martin told People Magazine. “I am truly blessed!”

Lachney reportedly presented Martin with a single solitaire round diamond on a knife-edge band from James Allen. According to People Magazine, the couple, who knew each other as kids, began dating in high school. In fact, they even broke up for some time.

“Ryan and I have known each other since we were about 11 years old. We’re high school sweethearts! Upon making the decision to move to Los Angeles, our lives were on different paths and we decided to support each other’s careers as friends,” she told People Magazine. “He remained my best friend in those six years apart. As of about a year and a half ago, we decided that our love was too strong and there was no one else we’d rather share every bit of happiness with. So we got back together!”

The couple is set to tie the knot in December this year.
