A clip of Gayle King's 'CBS This Morning' interview with retired WNBA star Lisa Leslie was posted on the channel's Twitter page on Tuesday. The video featured King asking Leslie about Kobe Bryant's 2003 rape case and the caption read: "@WNBA legend @LisaLeslie told @GayleKing that Kobe Bryant's legacy is 'not complicated' for her despite his 2003 rape accusation. 'I don't think it's something that we should keep hanging over his legacy'."

The video did not go well with fans of the late NBA star. Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent have been the most recent additions to the long list of people who slammed King. In an Instagram video posted by Snoop Dogg on February 5, not only did he tell King that she was out of line, but he also threatened her.

He said, "Gayle King, Out of pocket for that s--t. Way out of pocket. What do you gain from that? I swear to God, we're the worst. We're the f--king worst. We expect more from you, Gayle. Don't you hang out with Oprah [Winfrey]? Why ya'll attacking us? We your people. You ain't coming after f--king [producer] Harvey Weinstein, asking them dumbass questions. I get sick of ya'll."

He continued, "How dare you try to tarnish my motherf--king homeboy's reputation, punk motherf--ker? Respect the family and back off, bitch, before we come get you."

Snoop Dogg also posted pictures of King with Weinstein and captioned one of them, "W. T. F. Is this another one it’s adding up now y’all not with us @lilduval Trade this bi***."

50 Cent, on the other hand, posted the clip on Instagram and wrote, "what is this, wait somebody gotta help me understand why they keep doing this. i apologize for my language in advance let’s talk about this."

King, in response to the backlash she received, shared a video on Thursday in which she says, "I've been up reading the comments about the interview I did with Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant, and I know that if I had only seen the clip that you saw, I'd be extremely angry with me too. I am mortified. I am embarrassed and I am very angry. Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview, totally taken out of context, and when you see it that way, it's very jarring."

CBS News responded to in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Gayle conducted a thoughtful, wide-ranging interview with Lisa Leslie about the legacy of Kobe Bryant," said a spokesperson. "An excerpt was posted that did not reflect the nature and tone of the full interview.  We are addressing the internal process that led to this and changes have already been made."
