'GOT' stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie expecting first child after taking their Westeros romance off-screen

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie announced their pregnancy after the actress showed off her baby bump on a magazine's cover

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are going to be parents! Leslie confirmed the news after she debuted her growing baby bump on the cover of UK's Make Magazine. Harington and Leslie first met on the sets of 'Game Of Thrones' where they played each other's lovers in the fictional continent of Westeros. Their on-screen romance eventually went off-screen as they started dating in 2012. 

However, the pair decided to split shortly after that. According to People, the pair got back to get after splitting for a brief period. Nearly one year after their split, people started speculating if the pair was back together as pictures of them together circulated online. Even though their relationship on-screen was over, the pictures suggested they are still in touch. 

In 2016, the pair put an end to all the rumors as they confirmed their relationship by stepping out together for the red carpet event of the 2016 Olivier Awards, as reported by Insider. Following this, the pair did not shy away from talking about their relationship. In an interview with Vogue Italia, Harington confirmed he fell in love with the actress while filming for the show.

Harington spoke about why he loved Iceland so much and stated, "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it's become very easy to fall in love."

Later, that same year, Leslie also spoke about their relationship and admitted FaceTime helped them stay connected. In 2017 the couple decided to start apartment hunting together and had everyone believed that their relationship was getting very serious. Following their move together, Harington proposed Leslie and the two confirmed the news. 

In June 2018, the pair tied the knot where all of their family and friends were present. It was no surprise that the cast members of 'Game Of Thrones' had the front row seat to their wedding. In an interview with GQ Australia, Harington revealed he liked the idea of knowing one day their children could watch their parents meeting on-screen and falling in love. "I have no idea if we will, but say me and Rose do have children. They'll know. They'll be able to see the genesis of their parents getting together. Which is quite a wonderful thought, really," he said at that time.

After the news of Leslie and Harington expecting their first child, fans were quick to congratulate the couple. "Kit and Rose stayed in their favorite cave (their country house) and now they'll be having a baby! Great news," read one comment. Another added, "OMG I think Kit really need it this... I hope his depression has gotten better, amazing couple." "So now we know Jon Snow did know something! What a lovely way to spend the lockdown. Huge sincere Congratulations to you both and your families" read another comment. "Finally! The Prince that was Promised maybe by the time he finishes college, Winds of Winter will be written," said another.
