Thomas L Miller, legendary producer of shows 'Full House' and 'Family Matters', dies at 79
Thomas L Miller, who had been in showbiz for seven decades and produced shows such as 'Full House' and 'Family Matters', died on April 5 at the age of 79 in Salisbury, Connecticut. The death reportedly occurred due to complications from heart disease.
In a press statement according to Deadline, Warner Bros Television Group said, "Thomas Miller was born to entertain, infused with irrepressible passion and love for bringing joy to others through his life’s work. And what a skill set he possessed. He was at once a thoughtful and tasteful executive, an extremely talented writer, and a highly successful producer whose many hit series will live long in the collective memory of fans around the world. Everyone at Warner Bros. Television Group and the Fuller House family will miss him deeply, and we send our love to his longtime partner Bob Boyett and to the Miller family."
He had served as a co-founder of Miller/Boyett Productions, Miller/Boyett/Warren Productions and Miller-Milkis Productions to produce shows such as 'Full House', 'Bosom Buddies', 'Family Matters', 'Perfect Strangers' and 'Step by Step'. In addition to television series, Miller-Milkis also produced feature films such as 'Silver Streak' and 'Foul Play'.
In 2000, Miller moved to New York City where he dabbled in theatre and produced plays. He won the Tony Award in 2011 for 'War Horse' under Best Play category and was also nominated in the same category in 2019 for his play 'Tootsie'. His other work on Broadway includes 'Hillary and Clinton and 13', upcoming 'Mrs. Doubtfire' and the revival of 'Company'.
In 2016, Miller returned to TV with the production of 'Fuller House' which debuted on Netflix and received much acclaim. The show is set to conclude this year. After moving away from Los Angeles, Miller lived with his partner of 40 years Bob Boyett and their four dogs in Connecticut.
