Who's acting in 'From Scratch'?
The series was announced on November 7, 2019. It was reported that Zoe Saldana will play Amy, the lead character, and also serve as an executive producer of the series. In April 2021, it was revealed that Eugenio Mastrandrea would play Lino, Saldana's love interest. The cast also includes Danielle Deadwyler, Keith David, Kellita Smith, Judith Scott, Lucia Sardo, Paride Benassai, and Roberta Rigano.
A month later, Terrell Carter, Medalion Rahimi, Jonathan Del Arco, Peter Mendoza, Lorenzo Pozzan, and Jonathan D King were added as recurring cast members. Tembi said, "One of the things about family and what we hoped to do as storytellers were to show the subtle complexities that are in every family."
