Tennis fans will have every reason to rejoice as the Western & Southern Open 2020 finally gets underway with the first round on August 22. The biggest matchup of the day will be Andy Murray taking on Frances Tiafoe. For the latter, this will be the first time he will be taking on the former world number one in a competitive match. Murray hasn't played in New York in 2019 and will be eager on making his mark on the hard court when the two face-off. Here's a quick primer ahead of the match.

Time

The match is slated for 3 pm ET on August 22, 2020.

Venue

Murray and Tiafoe will battle it out at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Where to watch?

The game can be watched live on The Tennis Channel, ESPN and ESPN 2.

How to live stream?

ATP Tennis TV is the most preferred option to live stream the matches. Fans can subscribe by paying $14.99 and live stream the Western & Southern Open from August 22. With full replays and realtime stats, the service offers a complete package. It can be watched live on the phone, iPad or Android tablet, Chromecast, or Airplay to your TV.

Pre-match buzz

This will be Murray's test of fitness as it has been a bit of a bother for the Briton in recent times. His last ATP stint saw him win the title at the Antwerp Open. With a hard court surface where he's bagged 30 of his titles, Murray will be fancying his chances. Earlier this tear he played four matches in the Battle of the Brits exhibition and he'll be keen to shake off the rust.

Meanwhile, Tiafoe has had a rather average 2019, especially on the hard court surface. With 13-16 win-loss record on hard court, Tiafoe will be wary of the Murray threat. He started off the season with first round losses at the Qatar Open, Auckland Open and Australian Open before his first win came at a Challenger, meaning, Murray will be a daunting task.

Who will win?

We'll have to go with Murray on this one should his fitness levels stay steady.
