Holmes and Robach sported nearly identical outfits, wearing black shorts and leggings, paired with running sneakers.
At the start of the marathon, Holmes activated his camera and began taking photos to share on his Instagram stories.
While Amy was conservative in her approach to sharing images from the marathon, Holmes continued clicking and sharing various glimpses of the marathon with his followers.
Holmes's initial photo captured the multitude of people on the bridge ahead of him on a cloudy day. In contrast, Robach shared a photo of her marathon jersey number.
Holmes clicked a snap at the halfway mark in the marathon, signaling that he and Robach had reached the 13.1-mile mark, with the same distance to go. He captioned the snap, “Hell Yeah!,” depicting his enthusiasm for having covered the distance.
The ousted ‘GMA’ star also took note of the placards held up by onlookers and stopped to capture the best ones.
One of the signs displayed the message, "Smile if you peed a little," while another offered marathon runners a choice between "Pain and Beer." Holmes took a photo of this sign and captioned the image with "Tempting" along with a thinking emoji.
He later shared a snap of a few people cheering the runners and thanked them for all their support. He captioned, “Brooklyn, y’all are awesome”
Nevertheless, Holmes posted a final photo as he approached the finish line at the 21-mile mark in the marathon. His caption read, "See you in 5," showing his determination to complete what he and Robach had started.
