Nick Young proposes to his longtime girlfriend Keonna Green on Christmas: 'It's been long overdue baby'
This Christmas truly proved to be a memorable one for former Denver Nuggets star Nick Young and his longtime girlfriend and baby mama Keonna Green. On Christmas Day, the NBA player proposed to Green as the Young Family sported matching onesies.
Getting down on one knee, he said, "Know it's been way overdue, baby. I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He popped the question with a big rock that Green seemed immediately smitten by. The 34-year-old took to Instagram to share the good news with his fans. "Merry Christmas…. @keonnanecole Said Yes 💍!!!!! Aye Christmas to remember for the young family @lilswaggy1 @navibaby_ and Nyce’s it’s ova for Swaggy."
Green was sitting by the Christmas tree with their youngest child on her lap when Young popped the big question. "I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She said yes and then Young and his son Nick Jr celebrated with a, "We did it, son!" The couple has three children together. The couple has been together since high school, but have shared an on-again, off-again relationship since.
Previously, Young was engaged to Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. However, in 2016, Azalea ended the engagement after allegations that Young was cheating on her with Green. Once Azalea found out, they broke off the engagement and Young reunited with Green.
In March, Green said she has no animosity towards Azalea. "I wish her a lifetime of success. I’m definitely not going to apologize for being in love with a man who I have a lot of history with. I do wish her that kind of success and hope that she can get through this difficult time and she and Nick can move forward from this."
The shooting guard is also known as "Swaggy P" and hasn't played since 2018 when he was waived off. Earlier this year, he told Complex that he might be retiring soon. "This is pretty much like my last year if nothing happened," says Young. “I'm just going to call it, it's over. No more Swaggy P," he had said.
