Forbes Top Creators 2023: Olivia Dunne, Alix Earle, MrBeast and Jake Paul among others listed as most influential social media stars

Forbes determined the rankings of creators based on several factors such as earnings, entrepreneurship and engagement

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Forbes released its 2023 list of the top 50 social media creators or influencers who are “turning followers into fortunes.”

The Forbes list included 50 honorees who used their combined 2.6 billion followers to earn an estimated $700 million, an increase of more than 20% from 2022's total of $570 million.

The influencers were determined based on their earnings, clout and entrepreneurship, as well as their engagement as indicated by likes, shares and comments.

Top Creators by Forbes

MrBeast (No.1)

With over 180 million subscribers, Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast is the most successful individual creator on YouTube. The social media king took the first spot in the Forbes list of top creators.

“With more than 300 million followers, MrBeast’s fan base is nearly as large as the U.S. population. MrBeast’s power and popularity stem from his high production videos and stunts that include surviving in Antarctica for 50 hours and building a Wonka chocolate factory,” Forbes wrote.

Jake Paul (No.3)

Jake Paul, a former Vine celebrity and YouTube star, who is now a boxer, is known for his outrageous antics, like getting, eating dog food, and taking Icy Hot baths.

Jake has also sparked several controversies over the years, including claims of sexual misbehavior, fan scams, and most recently, an SEC charge for sponsorship involving an unreported cryptocurrency.

Nevertheless, Paul was among the highest-paid athletes in 2022 thanks to his talent for planning spectacles. He continues to work towards improving his career in boxing. 

Charli D'Amelio (No.5)

A 19-year-old TikTok sensation and the youngest member of the D'Amelio family, Charli continues to reign supreme as the top female creator on TikTok and the Forbes Top Creators list. The Connecticut native and co-founder of D'Amelio Footwear is now one of the most viral stars on the internet.

Logan Paul (No.6)

YouTuber turned WWE star, Logan Paul originally gained notoriety on Vine with his brother Jake and he then used that momentum to launch his YouTube channel where he posted vlogs and stunt videos that included songs and fights.

His channel boasts 23.6 million followers, but Paul's disturbing and offensive flicks, such as one that showed a dead body in Japan's "suicide forest," caused him to briefly lose his revenue-generating business.

Addison Rae (No.23)

Addison Rae Easterling shot to fame due to her lip-syncing videos on TikTok. She has come as far as scoring her own record deal now and her debut album, 'AR', was released in August this year.

The Louisiana-born creator who is also the founder of a beauty brand named ITEM has continued to reach new heights from her humble beginnings to what she owns now.

Alix Earle (No.42)

University of Miami graduate, Alix Earle already has so much under her radar. From getting popular with TikTok's GRWM (Get Ready With Me) to starting a podcast, 'Hot Mess', she has amassed an impressive following amongst GenZ.

Alix Earle graduated from university and left behind a scholarship in her name as her legacy at the Miami Herbert Business School.

Olivia Dunne (No.48)

Livvy Dunne, a TikToker and a gymnast for LSU, has 7.8 million followers on TikTok and 4.4 million followers on Instagram, opening the door for her to make huge money through name, image and lucrative deals.

She became the face of SI Swimsuit in April, this year. Dunne has an estimated NIL value of $3.2 million as Per SI.
