Floyd Mayweather’s ex Josie Harris's death turns murkier as police find ‘no evidence of drugs or suicide’
The mysterious demise of boxing champion Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, has gotten murkier as police have found no evidence of drugs or suicide, according to TMZ reports.
The 40-year-old mother of three was found dead in a car outside her home in California on Tuesday night. Police have termed the tragedy as death on not finding anything suspicious. The law enforcement sources have further established that “no evidence of drugs or suicide at the scene” were found, reports TMZ.
However, Floyd and Josie were in the middle of a $20 million suit at the time of her unexpected death. She had sued the boxing icon for calling her a drug abuser during one of his interviews while discussing a 2010 domestic violence incident. The case was ongoing at the time of Josie’s tragic death.
She had previously accused Floyd of abusing her on multiple occasions. However, what brought a lot of attention to their tumultuous relationship was the 2010 domestic violence incident, which landed Floyd in jail for two months after his own son testified against him.
However, a year later, Floyd denied the charges saying, "Did I kick, stomp, and beat someone? No, that didn't happen. I look in your face and say, 'No, that didn't happen.'"
But, he noted that Josie had crippling drug issues which enabled his actions. “Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that's domestic violence, then you know what? ... I'm guilty of restraining a person,” he said.
He also explained the factors that led to his conviction- "I’m black. I’m rich. And I’m outspoken. Those are three strikes right there."
Paying tribute to Josie a few days after her death, Floyd took to Instagram and shared a few of her pictures with captions including, ‘My Sunshine’, ‘My Rock’ and ‘My Sweetheart’.
Mayweather and Josie shared three children together. They dated from 1995 to 2010, until trouble began to ensue in their relationship.
