'Flower of Evil' Episode 5 will see Ji-won (Moon Chae-won) come to the conclusion that her husband -- who she believes is Hee-seong (Lee Joong-gi), but in truth is Hyun-soo -- is the next victim of the suspect that she has been investigating. In the previous episode, we saw how Ji-won had landed a case that seemed to be connected to a serial murder case from many years ago. The murderer of this case was none other than Hyun-soo's father, who was diagnosed with Antisocial Behavior Disorder. Hyun-soo was also accused of being his father's accomplice because he also has the same Antisocial Behavior Disorder.

So Ji-won during her investigation almost learns the truth about her husband, but she is stopped by Hyun-soo before she gets her hand on the evidence that would point her in the direction of the truth. It is during this time that Hyun-soo's watch, the strap of which was gifted by Ji-won, is dropped and later found by the cops. The episode ended with Ji-won finding it, and in the promo we see her conclude that her husband is the next victim of the killer.

She is partly right. The taxi driver who killed Hyun-soo's acquaintance from his past, is now planning Hyun-soo's murder but not for reasons that Ji-won believes. The taxi driver wants to find the place where his wife, the seventh victim of Hyun-soo's father is buried. He plans on torturing Hyun-soo by waterboarding him, and even drowning him if necessary to feel satisfied. The promo also shows how Hyun-soo is tied in an empty swimming pool which is later filled with water as the taxi driver interrogates him.

In the meantime, Ji-won calls her team up, including her senior to get their help in rescuing her husband. If you recall, the opening scene of the show saw Ji-won rescue Hyun-soo from drowning and it looks like the upcoming episode will take us to this moment and show us what really led to Hyun-soo getting caught up in the taxi driver's trap. As of now, we know that Hyun-soo did kill a man, and that was his village chief. However, from the few flashes that we have seen of the past, it seems to be in self-defense. He doesn't seem to have any hand in other murders, but because he finds it extremely difficult to prove the same, he disappeared years ago and began living as Hee-seong after getting hired by the real Hee-seong's parents.

Ji-won, however, is not aware of her husband's past. This episode could finally clue Ji-won into her husband's past and with her help, he could maybe clear his name for real. We can watch out what really happens when the episode airs.

'Flower of Evil' will air on tvN on Wednesday and Thursday at 10.50 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
