Tobias Brewer: Florida teen beats guardian with pan and stabs her after she asked him to clean his room
COCOA, FLORIDA: A Florida teenager was arrested for allegedly beating his court-appointed guardian to the brink of death with a frying pan and repeatedly stabbing her with a pocket knife because she told him to clean his room. Tobias 'Toby' Jacob Brewer, 17, was arrested November 30 after assaulting his guardian, who police say is his relative but not his biological mother, at her home in Cocoa, Florida.
Brew then fled the scene with his girlfriend and two friends in the victim's black Kia Rio. He had also planned to shoot his mother and even asked his friend to bring a gun. However, his friend, who suffers from autism, offered him a knife. However, the friend's knife was not used in the crime, Daily Mail reports. The crime was reported by the victim's girlfriend after her son told her that Brew killed his mother. The victim was found by police on the floor near the laundry room of her house with the bloody frying pan handle and the knife nearby.

As per a report by People, the victim was found covered in blood and her nose was "almost completely detached," While hanging on to life, she was able to tell the police, 'Toby did this.' She was immediately airlifted to the hospital, where is listed in critical condition. Police were able to track Brew with Gray's cell phone. He was arrested after leading police through a pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed on US 1.
During the interrogation, Brew reportedly admitted to biting his guardian until the pan’s handle broke. He then allegedly switched to a pocket knife and proceeded to stab her multiple times, per the police report. "The suspect advised that he does not like cleaning his room and was tired of the victim (his mom) constantly harping about it," the report stated. Brewer told detectives that he then took both of his mom's car keys and took money out of her purse "so that he can have money once he left the area," the report stated.
The brew is currently facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Fox Orlando reported that Brewer was booked into juvenile detention upon his arrest last month. Brewer will stand trial as an adult and will appear in court on January 11. It was unclear if Brewer entered a plea to the charges or retained an attorney to comment on his behalf.
