'Florida Man' Ending Explained: Was Mike able to retrieve treasure from the mini truck?

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Some places in the world are known for their natural beauty and attractions, but Florida is known for its ‘Florida Man’ memes about a single doing criminal activities in the weirdest way possible. No one ever thought that these Florida Man memes would go on to become such a phenomenon. But Netflix went one step ahead with this meme and turned it into a series that digs deeper than any viral meme imaginable. Titled ‘Florida Man’, the series chronicles the journey of an ex-cop named Mike Valentine (Edgar Ramirez) who is in a lot of debt and is now working for a Philly mobster named Moss Yankov.
Yankov tells Mike to return to his home state of Florida after his girlfriend, Delly West (Abbey Lee), runs away in her new BMW. He finds out that Delly is in Florida and asks Mike to go and find her. Mike accepts the mission and says if he finds her, he will get his freedom. Yankov says yes to the deal and Mike takes a flight to Florida. However, things get weird when Delly mentions something about a treasure in Florida and how she wants to have it. Mike says he knows where the treasure is and that only he can help in retrieving it. So, they make a plan to get to the treasure and become rich.

But were they able to get to the treasure? Let’s take a look at how the limited series concluded.
‘Florida Man’ Ending Explained: Did Delly West Betray Mike Valentine?
For the first seven episodes, viewers got the idea that Delly was with Mike and wanted to start a new life with him after finding the gold. However, in the last episode, Moss finds out about the place where Mike was living. He barges inside his room and finds Delly there. He was surprised to see her and they talk to each other. During the conversation, it was revealed that Moss killed her father and that’s why Delly didn’t want to be with him. However, she confessed later in the part that she wanted to be with him to have a better life because she understood his love for her.
She tells him about the gold and how only Mike knows about the treasure’s location. So, they both get together and make a plan to ruin everything for Mike.
However, it seems Delly is still playing with Moss and might end up betraying him as well by telling a false story.
‘Florida Man’ Ending Explained: Why did Delly kill Moss?
Iris makes Mike hear Delly and Moss’ conversation in which she discards Mike as a ploy. Feeling bitter about the entire situation, Mike plans an ambush and wants Delly dead, along with Moss. The plan was that Mike will get arrested in the middle of the plan so that he doesn’t have to reach the dock. Iris will take care of the ambush there and kill anyone who comes there. Iris gets shot during the ambush and Mike is behind the bars. However, he gets the shock of a lifetime when he sees his father entering the same prison cell as well.
Mike asks if this is part of the plan as well, to which, he replies, “No.” After a few moments, Mike walks out of the prison and gets to know about her ex-wife getting shot. He was going to the hospital when he is stopped in his tracks by Moss and Delly. Moss wants the treasure and takes Mike to the sinkhole where the truck is situated. Mike executes the plan that was made by his father and voila, the truck has now reached the surface. As soon as they open the truck, they get to know that the treasure is not inside the truck. Moss gets really irritated and wanted to blow Mike’s head.
Mike and Moss find themselves in a heated clash in which Moss takes the upper hand. Moss was about to shoot Mike when Delly takes the gun and kills Moss instead, letting Mike know that she really loves him. That’s why he killed Moss.
In the end, she wants Mike to choose between her or his ex-wife because she is tired of waiting. He chooses her ex-wife and Delly is free to go.
‘Florida Man’ Ending Explained: Did Mike find Delly and the treasure?
In the end, Mike visits his father Sonny in the prison and finds out that it was his father who got the treasure out of the mini truck. When everyone was busy executing the ambush plan, Sonny, along with his friend Buzz, took the treasure out of the truck. The reason that he never told his son is that he didn’t want his son to leave Florida again. Mike gets irritated and walks out of the prison to meet his sister, Patsy.
Mike is now taking care of his father bar and while talking to his sister, she asks him about Delly. Mike says that he doesn’t where she is and trying to find her because it feels like she is disappeared. To which, Patsy replies, “Nobody disappears anymore. We’re all a blinking blue dot on someone’s screen.” By saying this, she means that he could use GPS to track her.
He finally uses GPS to find one of their yachts. When he checks the yacht, he gets to know that Delly was here and might have left. But he is finally able to find the treasure. He kicks the bed and it opens up and he sees the entire treasure inside the bed’s locker.
The series ends with Mike finally getting a glimpse of Delly and they choose to start a new life as they are the owners of that extraordinary treasure.
