When is Donald Trump week? Florida city makes odd move in Black History month, Internet says 'throw away the state'

In honor of former President Donald Trump, a small city in Florida has declared the first week of February 'Donald J Trump week'. Latest reports detail this incident in light of Black History Month. The city of Frostproof is set to celebrate the former US president every year after an official declaration was made by the mayor.

According to a report in Fox 10, State Rep. Anthony Sabatini posted a photo of the proclamation, which declares the week from February 1 through February 6 as "Donald J. Trump week" in the city. “Great to be in the City of Frostproof FL tonight to speak in favor of a Proclamation declaring this week “Donald Trump Week.” First city in the nation to do this! @VisitFrostproof #maga,” he wrote on Twitter. First city in the nation to do this!” wrote Sabatini on Facebook. He said he spoke in support of the proclamation at Frostproof City Hall on Monday, February 1.

Frostproof City Council Member Austin Gravley reportedly said, “Last night I was proud to be a part of a proclamation the first of its kind making February 1-6 Donald J. Trump week in the City of Frostproof.” The city of Frostproof's announcement of Trump week comes just days before his impeachment trial is due to open before the Senate next week.

Many supporters from the city hope that the idea could stretch beyond the 3,000-resident city. Mayor Jon Albert's proclamation praised Trump's accomplishments over his four years in office, pointing out the fact that he received 76% of the vote in Frostproof during the 2020 election. This is not the first tribute the city has paid Trump. Sabatini had announced in January that he planned to introduce a bill in the Florida Legislature that would rename US 27 as 'President Donald J. Trump Highway'. 

Safe to say that many on Twitter are aghast. "This is disgusting. Treating this criminal like a damn God and it's absolutely repulsive. Will the brainwashed morons wake up? City declares first week of February 'Donald J. Trump week' -" one tweeted. Many others are pointing out to apparent absurdness of the decision. "In naming this “Donald Trump” week, #Frostproof is giving the country another reason to skewer #Floriduh #Despicable #Outrageous #Embarrassing" one tweeted. 

What angers social media users more is that Frostproof's celebration comes during Black History Month. "I cannot believe that Frostproof in Florida has declared this week Donald Trump Week. How can you celebrate a bully and a liar who incited rebellion and life-threatening violence against members of Congress? Also an insult to African Americans during Black History Month," one tweeted. "s this just disgusting or ironic? They chose the first week of Black History Month as "Donald Trump Week"?!?! WTF?!?!" another angry user tweeted while responding to Sabatini.

"Sometimes I just wanna throw the whole internet away. Everyday, it's relationship things. Worse now that valentine is coming. Can we talk about how there is a poll to make the first week in February (the Black History Month), a Donald Trump's week? Can we talk about that?!" another added. A user pointed out to just how disrespectful this move was. "Mfs in Florida done voted to make the first week of February “Donald Trump Week” lmaoooooooo yo they could of chose any month but black history month???!? No respect at all" And most of the users were angry at Florida as a whole. "We gotta remove Florida cause who the hell decides to come up with a “Donald Trump Week” during BLACK HISTORY MONTH? Gotta throw the whole City & State away at this point."
