The much-awaited and controversial biography of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was released on Tuesday, August 11. The book, titled 'Finding Freedom', was authored by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand and delves into the various events leading up to the departure of the couple from the royal family. A source, speaking to authors Scobie and Durand, said the Queen had been very confident in Meghan as she is "very clever and good at understanding what's required".

'The Queen was wonderful, warm, and generous toward the new Duchess. She made sure Meghan knew what was going on and made her feel very much at home because it was her first trip,' said the source, speaking of Meghan's trip to Chester.

The book also looks at Meghan's close bond with her father-in-law Prince Charles and how she considers him her 'second father'. The Duchess of Sussex had revealed that she had found Prince Charles to be 'supportive' and 'loving' from the moment she was introduced to him. He had also walked Meghan down the aisle at her Windsor wedding to Harry. Meghan's own father, Thomas Markle, had been unable to attend the wedding as he had some heart troubles. "Meghan had her own reasons for admiring her father-in-law, who had poignantly walked her down the aisle when her own father let her down," the book reveals.

An insider close to Meghan said that she had 'found such a supportive and loving father in Charles, which has really changed her life for the better'. A friend of Prince Charles had said the Prince of Wales too had "taken a real shine to Meghan. She's a sassy, confident, beautiful American. He likes very strong, confident women. She's bright, and she's self-aware, and I can see why they've struck up a very quick friendship".

Another source shared, "The Prince of Wales has always been fond of people from the Arts, like Emma Thompson, who he's been mates with for years. Meghan ticks the boxes. Most of all she's married to his beloved."

The book also talks about Harry and Meghan's rift with Prince William and Kate Middleton. The book also speaks about how sources close to the couple have claimed that royal aides were concerned that Harry and Meghan's popularity eclipsed the royal family's and that they were likely jealous of William and Kate who got the best roles. The two also reportedly 'didn't feel supported' by the royals.

The couple’s last public event as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was the Commonwealth Ceremony at Westminster Abbey on March 9. Royal expert Phil Dampier spoke to talkRADIO and said, "It was looking very difficult for Harry. But Meghan looked very, very relaxed as she has done for the last few days in these last final engagements... I suppose she could be happy because she got what she wants."

The pair have now settled down in Los Angeles California and are said to be living in Tyler Perry's mansion. Perry's mansion boasts of eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and is located on 22 acres on top of a hill in the exclusive Beverly Ridge Estates guard-gated community.
