'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 6 Episode 4: Will Maggie Rhee make a cameo? Links to 'Key to a Future' suggest so
Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) vanished from 'The Walking Dead' for a while and supposedly spent a long time with Georgie (Jayne Atkinson). Georgie met her at Hilltop and gave her the "Key to a Future". The key was supposedly a crucial document that contained plans to unlock "medieval human achievements".
Georgie's "Key to a Future" provided Maggie with powerful ideas to develop the Hilltop colony before she accompanied Georgie on the long expedition taking them far away from Virginia. In Episode 16, Season 10 of 'The Walking Dead', Maggie re-appeared, clad in Western attire – the symbolic hat that we see in FWD, with a bodyguard, who had a metal mask. This is just after Michonne (Danai Gurira) decides to accompany a caravan of similarly dressed travelers, who are migrating north.
In 'Fear The Walking Dead', the key badges are crucial for Virginia and her Pioneer settlements that are scattered all over the West. In Season 5, Virginia had mentioned that the keys are symbolic of people 'who hold the key to the future'. At the end of the latest episode in Season 6, Virginia pins a key to John Dorie, and says that they are a key to the future, 'our future'. Lawton is one of the many settlements and could help bring forth a grand future. This echoes Georgie's sentiments in 'The Walking Dead' when she had approached Hilltop to take forward the progress of their community, just for records. It could be that Georgie is linked to Virginia and the Pioneers, along with Maggie. It would be exciting to see Maggie on 'Fear The Walking Dead', somehow, even as a cameo later, or part of a flashback, perhaps. It's always a pleasure to watch cameos on FWD.
'The Walking Dead' Season 10's new six episodes will answer the burning questions about Maggie's disappearance and her new group. Maggie's been through a turbulent and painful time prior to her disappearance – no doubt, watching her husband's head being bashed in front of her, isn't something to recover from, easily.
