Fans urge Ariana Grande to 'catch up to Taylor Swift' as singer teases she's back in the studio
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ariana Grande's latest Instagram story, which shows a coffee mug set down in front of a sound mixer, has got fans excited in anticipation of new music.
Insider sources reportedly told Page Six back in October that Grande wanted to focus all her energies on her upcoming movie 'Wicked' before going back to the recording studio.
But since production was paused during the SAG-AFTRA strike, the singer utilized the free time to work on her seventh album.

According to the sources, Grande has been working with producer Max Martin in New York for the new record. The pair have frequently collaborated in the past on numerous hits such as 'God Is a Woman'.
There is no speculated date of release for new music from Grande, as the sources said, "She doesn’t know when she’ll want to release as she wants to be respectful of the timeline for ‘Wicked,’ and originally didn’t want to do any music at all until after the films were released.”
However, they added, "She works quickly and drops instinctively whenever she feels ready… so who knows?”
What was Ariana Grande's last album?
The last record released by the Grammy winner was 'Positions' in 2020. It was a massive hit, with the album’s title track hitting No 1, extending her streak as the recording artist with the most No 1 debuts in history.
The upcoming music is supposed to be a follow-up to the 'Positions' record.
