VANCOUVER, CANADA: The most frequent and dreadful experience that both normal people and celebrities have to endure is flight delays. On social media, we frequently see complaints about delayed departures with empathetic comments by strangers on such posts. But celebs, who can afford to fly on private planes or travel first class with VIP perks at airport lounges, get less sympathy when they complain. 'Rust' actor Alec Baldwin, 65, found out the hard way when he lamented about his recent miserable travel experience on his Instagram page.

When his flight from New Jersey to Vancouver, Canada was delayed, the actor, famous for roles in classic movies like 'Beetlejuice' and 'The Hunt for Red October,' whined in an Instagram post, "Why are US airlines so shitty?". Netizens made it their business to absolutely humiliate him for complaining.

Baldwin posted a selfie of himself on a plane to Instagram and moaned in the caption that he had to spend a long time waiting at the gate before taking off. To give you some context, a plane generally needs six hours to travel nonstop from Newark to Vancouver. Baldwin, however, said that he spent that time waiting for the actual airplane to take off. The actor returned to social media and posted a new image along with the revised wait time.

'Fly private. You got the loot'

While the actor received lots of support from fans who shared their own travel experiences with him in the comments area, many Internet users also mocked him for whining. A user wrote, "Fly private. You got the loot. Cry me a river." Another said, "Lifestyle of the rich and the famous. Always complaining! Always complaining!" One user said Alec doesn't have to worry about such plebian problems and wrote, "why are you flying any airline other than a private jet? Why are you complaining about the basic every day problems you don’t have to face on a day to day? Seriously, man, this is the least of your worries."

One fan said, "Imagine how the folks feel in economy." "Shut up with your first world problems," wrote another. One fan wrote, "Whatever you do DON’T start playing Words With Friends!!!" This was a reference to the incident in 2011 when the actor allegedly got booted off an American Airlines flight for playing Words With Friends, which he lamented about on Twitter at the time.
