'Just like mother': Fans praise Blue Ivy after Beyonce reveals how daughter rose above trolls and proved herself with hard work
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Beyonce opened up about her daughter Blue Ivy joining her on stage for several of her 'Renaissance World Tour' stops, and how she was affected by online critiques of her dancing in the new concert film.
11-year-old Ivy, whom Queen Bee shares with her rapper husband Jay Z, read negative comments about her dancing after she made a surprise appearance onstage beside her mother in Paris in May.
But instead of giving in to the internet trolls, she took it to heart to prove them wrong, and put in the hours to improve her skills.
Beyonce was not eager to let Blue Ivy perform on stage
The 'Love on Top' singer revealed that Blue Ivy was originally supposed to make a singular stage appearance, and the pop icon was admittedly not thrilled about even that.
In the film, Beyonce said that she felt performing in front of thousands was no place for an 11-year-old. The first time Ivy joined her onstage, the singer claimed that she almost passed out.
"She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no,” said Beyonce, recalling an earlier conversation in the film.
Blue Ivy's performance kept improving throughout the concert
Tina Knowles-Lawson, Ivy's 69-year-old grandmother reportedly told People back in July about her granddaughter's confidence soaring “to the sky” since her first performance.
"She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she's just getting better and better. So I'm the proud grandma, always."
“This is a heels family. You're trained early to walk in heels,” she joked, adding that Ivy is "having the time of her life, and I couldn't be more proud of her because she really worked hard.”
Jay-Z is proud of his daughter's achievement as well, saying in an interview on CBS Mornings, "I still get goosebumps seeing her walk onstage.”
"She’s been born into a life she didn’t ask for. So since she was born, she’s been in scrutiny and the public eye and everyone having an opinion of even a little girl, how she keeps her hair. So for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song is called ‘My Power,’ you can’t write a better script."
Internet cheers for Blue Ivy
Ivy's remarkable honing of her skills has been noticed by the fans, who took to social media to show their support.
"They bullied her and the baby got better and better each show," wrote a user on X.
