HOUSTON, TEXAS: Takeoff's cousin and bandmate Offset is struggling to come to terms with his tragic death on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, during a shootout at the 810 Billiards & Bowling alley in Houston. The police, who have since arrested suspect Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, have maintained that Takeoff, was not involved in the altercation. Clark's arrest was announced by the Houston Police Department in a press conference on December 2.

Born Kirsnick Khari Ball, Takeoff was the youngest member of Migos, the Grammy-nominated rap trio from suburban Atlanta that also featured his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset. Police said that the 28-year-old musician was an "innocent bystander" when a stray bullet hit him. Police Sgt Michael Burrow said that the shooting followed a dispute over a game of dice, but that Takeoff was not involved.

According to Page Six, Offset is struggling to maintain his smile as he grieves the loss of his cousin and bandmateTakeoff. "S**t not easy fake smiling and s**t tryna keep walking with my head up," the rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, wrote on Twitter alongside the picture of Takeoff. Fans quickly tried to console the grieving rapper and advised him to keep moving.

"Praying for u King..U got this...but hear me, if u dont feel like smiling, u dont always have to. But this too shall pass. Up high will send u strength to handle everything that comes ur way. The older u get, the stronger u will get. From a 53 yr old Grandma," a user wrote.

Another fan said, "Keep strong young king. Together y’all made history, that can’t be erased. Together y’all changed hip hop and how we receive it sonically. Take completed his mission on earth and made his mark. Keep strong."

One fan wrote, "Can't imagine how, or what your going through along with all of us but I know for damn sure it ain't easy . Keep your head up , we're all here for you and support all u do . RIP TAKEOFF."

Another fan said, "Take it literally one day at a time young genius. Every single day in some way I am reminded of my dad and Fred. Everyone doesn’t handle this experience the same. Thank God there is no right way or wrong way to do it. Try and embrace the happy times Much love Coach Ms. Shirley."

Offset has been using his social media to mourn the loss of his cousin and fans never seize to offer words of encouragement as and when he writes how he feels about the loss. On December 9, more than a month after Takeoff's death and ahead of celebrating his 31st birthday, Offset reportedly wrote that he was "in a dark place" with a middle finger emoji. Fans reacted to that as well. "Grief is very hard and it doesn’t happen in any logical order. I’m praying for you all," one fan said while trying to console him.
