NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jon Bon Jovi seems happy at the prospect of welcoming a famous daughter-in-law into the family. Jon Bon Jovi's son Jake Bongiovi's engagement to Millie Bobby Brown, who is 19 years old, had made headlines as both of them are very young. But Bon Jovi, as the father, seems less perturbed about his son and Millie marrying too young. When asked if he "worries" about the young couple at 'Radio Andy' on Tuesday, May 2, the rock icon replied, "I don't know if age matters."

Last month, the 19-year-old 'Stranger Things' star posted a charming black-and-white image of herself beaming with Jake Bongiovi, who embraced her from behind as she flaunted a large diamond ring on her finger. Brown wrote, "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all," as the caption — lines from Taylor Swift's song 'Lover.' Bongiovi also shared images from the same beach photo shoot along with the word "Forever."

The Internet loves that Millie Bobby Brown can't get enough of her '$100k' engagement ring from Jake Bongiovi

'Growing together is wise'

On Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio program 'Radio Andy,' the host questioned Bon Jovi about whether he is concerned that his son is too young for marriage. In response, Bon Jovi said, "I don’t know if age matters, if you find the right partner and you grow together. My advice really is growing together is wise," as reported by Page Six.

The musician said that Bongiovi is just "the latest" of his four children to become engaged, noting that three of them are getting married. He continued, "I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with and we like them all."

When asked if he had seen Brown in 'Stranger Things,' Bon Jovi responded, "Of course. Millie is wonderful. Her whole family are great. Jake is very, very happy," the singer continued. The 19-year-old actress had revealed the news after weeks of speculation on April 11 and, at the time, it was not known if the couple had taken the decision independent of their families. But now, it seems that both famillies were onboard with the match and were happy about it.

How many times has Bon Jovi married?

Since 1989, Bon Jovi, 61, has been married to Dorothea Hurley, his high school sweetheart. They have remained by one other's sides through thick and thin, demonstrating what true love looks like in real life. They also have three more children together, besides Bongiovi — Stephanie, 29, Jesse, 28, and Romeo, 19. Bon Jovi shares an over 40-year relationship with his wife and that is why probably he has the best advice for his son about marrying young and growing old together.

At the New Jersey high school Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1980, Bon Jovi and Dorothea had their first encounter. As Jon recalled, he was the one who initially fell head over heels for Dorothea when she agreed to let him look at her test answers. The singer of 'It's My Life' told People, "I was immediately drawn to her from the minute I saw her and that never changed." They began dating after quickly recognizing their chemistry. According to Amomama, their enduring romance was jeopardized by a temporary breakup in 1985.

'He sounds like a Republican'

Internet users, however, were not as enthusiastic about Bon Jovi's comment about his "young" son's engagement. One such user tweeted, "Now He sounds like a Republican - when they marry their 12 year old cousins." Another Twitter user wrote, "Settle down. One is 20 the other 19. Peers. Majority age. Wish them well. They will figure it out soon enough and may do very well. I’ve met 95 yr old couples married younger than this. These are not young teens." A third social media user typed, "Why is this even a story? Yeah, young people date and get married. My wife was 19 when we married." Someone else quoted Bon Jovi's 'Livin' On A Prayer' song lyrics and wrote, "She brings home her pay, for love, mmm, for love She says, "We've gotta hold on to what we've got It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not We've got each other and that's a lot for love We'll give it a shot" Whoa, we're half way there Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer." Another user chimed in, "W. They're both adults. Let them live."
