A family of 7 sharing a one-and-a-half bathroom - unimaginable right? HGTV's reboot of 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' did the unthinkable in their maiden episode.

The team picked Jessica Mosley and her family of 7 (which includes her, her mother, and 5 kids) and gave them their dream home - a modern, boho Spanish, 2,400 sq. ft. property with 5 bedrooms and 4-and-a-half bathrooms.

Even though it was cozy, but living in limited space has its own challenges. Three of the kids were sharing a room that had a bunk bed installed. Also, the closet was more like a storage area with little to no room for fitting in everyone's clothes.

Jessica and mother Pam Chapin had issues of their own. Not that they don't enjoy each other's company but as adults, everyone needs their own space and that was lacking in their relationship especially because they have had to share the bedroom. No one's complaining, but you know it had gotten a bit stuffy for the mother-daughter duo.

This year the design team is new and you could it see it in their work. Darren Keefe, Breegan Jane, and Carrie Locklyn with the help of John Balfanz Homes and hundreds of volunteers worked 96 hours straight to put together a beautiful, stylish, and modern house for the family.

"It was so emotional once they moved the bus, I told somebody I must have really low expectations because it blew my mind. It was so overwhelming. It was a good cry," Jessica told bakersfield.com. She was particularly thrilled to see the attached bath that was so wide that she couldn't touch opposite walls at one time. Also, the smart fridge, double island in the kitchen, and the technologically-advanced washing machines that are wired to send texts when a batch is done had her in awe.

What's interesting is they may have renovated the house, but have retained bits and bobs from the old space especially items related to Jessica's father, who passed away in a motorcycle accident recently. "I was excited and sad because we have so many old memories in the old house, but now we have a new house and we're going to start with new memories," Cheyenne Mosley, daughter, 16, shared her thoughts on her new abode.
