Ellen will be more phony and feature kids on show to win back fans after allegations of rude behaviour: Expert
Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was slammed last week when members of her crew opened up on the host's lack of support and communication about jobs and pay amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The accusations were the lastest ones made against Ellen who was also slammed by a beauty blogger for being very cold. The blogger was seen on her show earlier this year. According to the chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, brand expert Eric Schiffer, "the behavior that's been revealed about Ellen is rat poison to the Ellen DeGeneres brand."
"When you have a brand like Ellen's leak information that is 180 degrees different than this facade she's been painting, it creates a dumpster fire on her image and it's like watching the Hindenburg," Fox News quotes him.
So far, Ellen's show features a mix of people — from A-list celebrities to ordinary citizens with unique situations and stories. She has also been praised for several years for her donations to good and deserving causes. Schiffer shared that Ellen's latest accusations and drama have left viewers wondering whether it was all an act.
The expert painted a picture of what the possible aftermath could be. "The way she'll bounce back is to put on even more phoniness and play the game. She will do this by surrounding herself with other celebrities, puppies, and babies to try to make light of things."
Schiffer believes that this will work for her loyal fanbase though some have begun to question her true intentions. "I think she turned off 20 to 30 percent of her fan base with this," Schiffer revealed in reference to the alleged negligence and mistreatment of her employees.
Recently, Ellen had also been called out on social media by several users who slammed her for comparing quarantining in her mansion to living in jail. "When you have her complaining about her mansion life during the coronavirus and then having leaks from the staff talking about how they've been furloughed while she's counting her millions — that's a disgusting set of imagery for most Americans during a time of near depression level."
Ellen did not make any sort of public apology. "If you have the means, you should work to take care of your people. She needs to stop going on Instagram and show a level of gratefulness and develop some humility and apologize at a level that people will believe," advised Schiffer.
Last month, we had shared that comedian Kevin T Porter had asked his fans and followers to share their "most insane" stories about Ellen DeGeneres, as a way to raise money for charity. Porter believes that she is "one of the meanest people" and he will donate money for every single "real" response that he receives.
Many social media users commented on the post with their experiences. One such user shared, "I worked @RealFoodDaily, served her & [Portia de Rossi] at brunch. She wrote a letter to the owner & complained about my chipped nail polish. Not that it was on her plate but just that it was on my hand. I had worked till closing the night before & this was next morn, almost got me fired."
Another added, "She has a ‘sensitive nose’ so everyone must chew gum from a bowl outside her office before talking to her, and if she thinks you smell that day you have to go home and shower. A new staff member was told every day she picks someone different to really hate. It's not your fault, just suck it up for the day and she'll be mean to someone else the next day. They didn't believe it but it ended up being entirely true."
