LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It is no secret that Prime has an amazing catalog of series and movies but recently it added a new one to its already vast list, 'Swarm'. The satirical comedy horror thriller television series has been created by Janine Nabers and Donald Glover. This series has explored many psychological aspects which make you question reality in the seven episodes it dropped on March 17, 2023. Furthermore, be it fans or critics, everyone praised the direction, cinematography, soundtrack, and balance between its bright, vivid aesthetic and its elements of psychological horror. Nevertheless, many fans have drawn parallels between Dominique Fishback's Dre's obsessive fangirling over Ni'Jah to Beyonce's fan base who are known as the "Bey Hiv," while some even tried to relate Ni'Jah's personality and aesthetic to that of singer Beyonce. However, Ni'Jah actress, Nirine S. Brown cleared all misinterpretations regarding this matter when she spoke exclusively to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW).

Ni'Jah just has a strong personality like Beyonce

When asked if Brown drew inspiration from Beyonce, who she has worked with previously on Netflix's 'Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce,' "Donald Glover wanted Ni'Jah's character to be unique and iconic in her own way. Fans may draw parallels between Beyonce and Ni'Jah as both have been portrayed as megastars considering they also have strong personalities, however, there are other female performing artists as well like Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Lizzo, who also have similar fandom. Thus, I feel I represented all of these women when I embodied Ni'Jah's character in 'Swarm'. Speaking of artists, Brown also revealed how she has always loved Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. "I am an old soul thus I always resonated with Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson as they always inspired me and are my favorite artists of all time."

Nirine S. Brown hoping for a Marvel project

Brown then moved on to shed some light on how did it feel like on 'Swarm's set and with her "warm and fun" castmates. "Every day on sets was so magical and I thrived as I got the chance to infuse my passion for dancing with acting in the series. Everyone was extremely happy on sets, although I didn't share any scenes with Billie Eilish and Chloe Bailey, I loved the Billie Eilish episode," as it reminded Brown of her prime days in Tyler Perry’s hit Drama series, 'Ruthless,' where she is seen as Lynn Rollins. After which, she proceeded to tell us how her working experience with Fisback as a co-star was just "exceptional," she remembers as Fishback and she shared some of the most intense scenes of the series. Miss Brown hopes her work in Prime's 'Swarm' bring more luck to her career which eventually gets her a "Marvel project soon."

In case, you still haven't watched 'Swarm,' you can stream it on Prime Video now.
