Ex-Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones claims she was asked to 'get rid of' her pregnancy while in the band
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: With singles like 'When I Grow Up', 'Buttons' and 'Don't Cha', the Pussycat Dolls became a legendary girl group in the early 2000s. On April 10, a former Pussycat Dolls member appeared on 'Tucker Carlson Today' on Fox Nation and said she was compelled to abort a pregnancy in order to stay in the girl group.
A member of the group that thrived in the early 2000s, Kaya Jones, told 'Tucker Carlson Today' that while some members in the present have children, others do not, implying that they might have experienced the same "pressures" she did, reports Fox News.

'Get rid of it'
In a shocking appearance with Fox Nation's show on Monday, Kaya Jones said she had been instructed to terminate her unborn baby. She cryptically replied, "The powers that be," when asked who allegedly pressured the abortion. "A majority of the women do not have children. I mean, that's the pressures and the forcing abortions. And, you know, you're fired if you're pregnant," she added.
Jones responded, "They can do that," when host Tucker Carlson asked whether band members could truly be fired for getting pregnant. Jones, who is now 38, claimed she gave in to the pressure because she believed she was at the "height" of her career and "really not wanting to lose [her] job." She continued saying that she "got rid" of her unborn baby "in between rehearsals" because she was afraid that if other Dolls became pregnant, they would be "fired," as per Page Six.
Jones stated that after performing with the band during a gig at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, she experienced "hemorrhaging," "lost" her unborn child, and received criticisms about how "fat" she was all at once. The singer said, "It's to control you. Jones is the only former member of the Dolls to have publicly discussed supposedly being compelled to undergo abortions as a member of the now-disbanded musical group.
Page Six contacted the representatives of several former Pussycat Dolls members, including Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, and Ashley Roberts, but did not immediately receive a response. The Pussycat Dolls were started by choreographer Robin Antin, who continued to oversee them when Jones' brief tenure ended in 2004.
Jones has previously expressed dissatisfaction with her brief membership (2003-2004) with the Pussycat Dolls, which lasted barely a few months. In 2017, the singer implied in a series of sharp tweets that the 'Don't Cha' performers were a "prostitution ring." Antin, now 61, responded by labeling the charges "disgusting, ridiculous lies" in a statement to the Blast.
Where are the Pussycat Dolls now?
The Pussycat Dolls began as a burlesque group but transformed into a powerful girl band in the early 2000s. According to The US Sun, it was founded by actress, businesswoman, singer, dancer, choreographer, and apparel designer Robin Antin, who also founded the female bands G.R.L., Girlicious, and Paradiso Girls. The current status of the members is shown here:
Nicole Scherzinger
The most well-known Pussycat Doll is perhaps Nicole Scherzinger. She began a successful solo career after the band split in 2010, and she has since collaborated with artists like Will.i.am, Sean Combs, Snoop Dogg, T.I., and others. The Sing-Off, The X Factor UK, The X Factor US, and Australia's Got Talent are just a few of the contests she has judged. She has been dating Thom Evans since 2020.
Kimberly Wyatt
Kimberly Wyatt worked as a choreographer for the Pussycat Dolls alongside singing with the group. She continued to work as a judge for Sky One's 'Got To Dance' program after quitting the group. She was a member of the dancing group Her Majesty & the Wolves and she participated in and won Celebrity MasterChef in 2015. She got married to model Max Rogers in 2014. They have three children together: Maple, Willow and Ford.
Ashley Roberts
Ashley Roberts was well-known prior to the Pussycat Dolls, but the band's involvement helped to make her famous. After the band split up, she participated in 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' in 2012 and got in second place to actor Charlie Brooks. She released her first solo album, titled 'Butterfly Effect' two years later.
Carmit Bachar
Carmit Bachar quit the band in 2008 to try to start a solo career, but it wasn't until 2017 that she put out her debut single under her own name. These days, she frequently shares updates about her life on Instagram. She has a child with her longtime partner Kevin Whitaker.
Jessica Sutta
Jessica Sutta shared the same desire as Bachar to quit the group and pursue a solo career. She proved her independence after quitting by releasing her song 'Show Me,' which peaked at the top of the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart. She followed up with her first solo album, titled 'I Say Yes,' in 2017. She has been got married to Mikey Marquart in 2019.
Melody Thornton
After graduating from high school, Melody Thornton joined the Pussycat Dolls, making her one of the group's youngest members. She eventually quit the band to focus on solo music and has since appeared on the reality contest series like 'Dancing on Ice', 'Popstar to Operastar', and 'The Masked Singer Australia', which she won in 2022.
