Ewan McGregor, worth $40M, to give ex-wife Eve Mavrakis half of his fortune in divorce settlement
'Star Wars' actor Ewan McGregor is reportedly paying his ex-wife a hefty sum as a part of their divorce, according to Page Six. It reportedly includes the multi-million fortune he earned from ‘Star War’ movies. The couple, who were married for more than two decades, filed for divorce in January 2018 and they reached a settlement in June. Their divorce was finalized on August 13.
McGregor and Mavrakis split in October 2017 after pictures of the actor kissing his 'Fargo' co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead was reported by The Sun. The divorce settlement consists of his royalties from movies and shows from before their split, which includes 'Fargo', the 'Star Wars' prequels, 'Trainspotting' films, 'Big Fish', 'Moulin Rouge', 'Emma' and a few more. However, his 2018 film 'Christopher Robin', through which he earned $3,000,000, is considered "community property" and has been included in the settlement.
People Magazine reported that the actor would also be providing monthly spousal support of $35,868 and child support of $14,934. His former wife will get five out of his collection of 30 vehicles along with their Los Angeles home worth $6.62M. According to TMZ, Mavrakis will get to keep all of her jewelry and "$501,704 in cash to even out the asset split". The couple is also sharing the legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter.

The 1930s styled property became their family home for many years until they decided to end their relationship. They share four daughters together.
The British actor is currently dating Winstead. Before meeting McGregor, Winstead was married to filmmaker Riley Stearns for seven years. Winstead and Stearns reportedly met on a cruise. Talking about her divorce she told Glamour magazine, "I got divorced a couple of years ago, which was a scary, crazy thing for me because I had been with the same person since I was 18 years old, and that was what I knew."
In 2018, after winning Golden Globe for his role in ‘Fargo’, McGregor thanked both Mavrakis and Winstead in his acceptance speech. He said, "I've always loved being an actor and hanging out with actors and I got amazing actors to work with on this and it wouldn’t be any Emmett or Stassi without David, Michael, Carrie Coon and there would be no Rey without Mary Elizabeth Winstead so thank you very much.”
Meanwhile, McGregor reportedly suggested that he was happier in the new relationship. According to Metro UK, he said, "I am better. I am happier. I think that’s true."
