'Every day is Valentine's Day with you': Jon Bon Jovi shares rare picture with wife Dorothea Hurley
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Jon Bon Jovi took to his Instagram to pay a loving tribute to his wife of 33 years Dorothea Hurley on the special occasion of Valentine's Day. The pair, who eloped in Las Vegas in 1989, have known each other for four decades now. "Every day is Valentine’s Day with you," the singer captioned the throwback post which showed the married couple in their young years, embracing each other in a tight hug. Both Jon Bon Jovi and Hurley donned soft smiles in the photo.
Jon Bon Jovi and Hurley met each other at Sayreville War Memorial High School in New Jersey. The pair then waited nine years to get hitched and finally eloped in Las Vegas in 1989. The married couple shares three sons Jacob, 20, Jesse, 27, and Romeo, 18, and a daughter Stephanie, 29. Hurley and her famous spouse have spent 43 years together during which they co-founded the JBJ Soul Foundation in 2006 and opened three 'Pay-if-you-can' restaurants around the country.

'We really like each other'
Speaking to People, Jon Bon Jovi revealed the secret to a long and happy marriage. "Mutual respect," he declared when asked what their secret is. "Having grown up together and grown together. And we really like each other. We want to hang out." The pair, who met each other when they were only teenagers, carry a series of surprises that has kept the flame alive since high school. "I always said I was good at spotting potential too," she said, admitting that she knew from the start that she was onto a good thing. "I have a gift."
'She let me cheat off her in history'
Despite it all, the pair also when through a phase when one of the partners cheated, especially in the very beginning. "She let me cheat off her in history," Jon Bon Jovi admitted. He further added, "I was immediately drawn to her from the minute I saw her - and that's never changed - 40 years ago." Meanwhile, Hurley joked that she is "shallow."
Jon Bon Jovi's marriage has kept him grounded
While reaching the heights of success early on in his career, Jon Bon Jovi admitted that his marriage kept him grounded. "We work hard at it," he told the outlet. He also added, "But we enjoy each other and we never fell for the trappings of what celebrity can do. "We've witnessed that happen over the years to people that were close to us and people that we knew from afar. It's just what I do, it's not who I am. I write songs. I happen to be very good at performing them. That's it."
