'Even her shoes are lip syncing': Paula Abdul roasted for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tap dance
Abdul, 60, performed her famous song 'Straight Up' from the 1980s at New York City's annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: When you do something that not everyone loves, especially after being a celebrity, it may be great or very bad, and it's worse if it's broadcast on social media. This time, Paula Abdul, a former judge on 'American Idol,' was involved. Abdul took part in the Jennie-O Turkey Store float on Thursday, November 24 and during one of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade's segments, she happened to tap dance a little bit. This sparked reactions from online users, who voiced their thoughts about Paula's participation.
During the 60-year-old Abdul's performance at the Parade in New York City, she sang her 1980s smash song 'Straight Up.' Abdul and her backup dancers performed a dance routine that started with tap dancing and culminated with an aided flip as they stepped off a turkey float while wearing a full-body sequin costume, as per reported by The News Democracy.
More than 5,000 volunteers, 16 enormous balloons, 28 floats, over 700 clowns, 12 marching bands, 10 performing groups, and numerous musical celebrities were all present at the 2022 installment of the annual event. Blue’s Clues & You! host Josh Dela Cruz, Gloria, Sasha, and Emily Estefan, Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, Fitz and the Tantrums, Kirk Franklin, Mario Lopez and family, Ziggy Marley, Miss America 2022 Emma Broyles, the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street, Sean Paul, and many more were among who featured appearances and performed at the parade, according to the reports from NBC news.
Abdul's 11-second film was released on Twitter and immediately got people commenting on social media. One commented, "even her shoes are lip syncing." Another tweeted, "Wow she really getting up there lol I ain’t never seen her move this slow." A third said, "This is almost as much fun as seeing LL Cool J enjoying every performance during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony." "I knew it!!! Thought my eyes were deceiving me for a second, and a fourth user slammed. A fifth shared his opinion saying, "She sounds over syzthized sounds like damn robot lol couldn't enjoy performance." Another wrote, "So much plastic surgery she can’t even lip sync fast enough lol." A seventh said, "who ARE these people that watch parades? It's so weird."
