'We are peas in a pod': Eva Longoria gets candid about 'inseparable' friendship with Victoria Beckham
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eva Longoria opened up about her lasting connection with fashion legend Victoria Beckham. The 'Desperate Housewives' star, 48, spoke candidly about the close relationship she share with the former Spice Girl, 49, and stressed how it has endured through the years. "We are peas in a pod," Longoria expressed, capturing the essence of their friendship, The Times reported.
She went on to reveal Victoria's delightful personality, saying, "I wish people knew how funny and charming and smart Victoria is. She's the funniest person. I think she's an introvert, but she's an extrovert with me. We are inseparable."
'We have sleepovers all the time'
Longoria got to know the singer through her ex-husband Tony Parker, a pal of David Beckham. After the Beckhams relocated to Los Angeles, she claimed that the two couples would socialize often, even remarking that David "is an amazing cook." Over time, Longoria and Victoria's friendship deepened, and they started planning meet-ups in their favorite cities, such as London and Paris. Sleepovers became a regular occurrence, often taking place at the Beckhams' farmhouse or in London, where they would spend the night chatting away. “We have sleepovers all the time, mostly at their farmhouse or in London. We usually just blab all night," she said as per the publication.
'She’s extremely loyal'
“She’s extremely loyal,” Longoria said before adding “There’s never a moment I can’t call her, that she’s not available, that she’s not flying to see me, or I’m flying to see her. Or I’m raiding her closet. She gives me motherly advice and business advice.” Longoria discussed how Victoria was a key player in her wedding planning, “She did my civil outfit, my wedding dress, and the after-party dress,” Longoria said.
“She brought everything — I mean, she literally carried it with her. Put it on me, buckled my shoes because I couldn’t bend down, and zipped up my dress when I got drunk. She was like, ‘I know my role.’ She is that best friend.” When Victoria gave Longoria the privilege of being Harper Beckham's godmother, as an 11-year-old girl, their friendship attained its zenith. Harper was characterized by Longoria as a "sweet, beautiful, and kind young lady."
'I just go into her closet normally, and go, 'I need a dress'
When the two pals attended Brooklyn Beckham's wedding to Nicola Peltz, it was clear how close they were. They displayed their common sense of taste and togetherness by donning matching outfits for the momentous event, according to Longoria. Longoria humorously shared how she selects outfits with Victoria's guidance, jokingly stating, "I just go into her closet normally, and go, 'I need a dress.' She's like, 'Do you like black or green?' And I say, 'Black.' She goes, 'Great. Green.'"
