Emmys 2020: Jameela Jamil says 'no bra, no heels, no problem', fans call it the 'official motto' of the year

Jameela Jamil is surely embracing comfort over couture during this year's Emmys. As the 72nd edition of the coveted awards began with a virtual ceremony, one can see their favorite stars being as comfortable as possible. Jamil has already set the tone high for being comfy and snazzy. She posted a photo on her Instagram hinting that she is braless in her attire for the awards. Moreover, she was seen in white JJwinks loungewear under a Markarian NYC ombre sequin coat from the brand’s spring/summer 2019 collection. In her post, she is seen wearing no footwear. However, the actress flaunted her statement curtain bangs and drew a mole on her cheekbone to add a bit of glamor. 

Jamil took to Instagram to post a picture of her dapper outfit. She captioned the pic as, "No bra? No heels? NO PROBLEM. Wearing PJ’s to the 72nd Emmy awards (from my house) is my kind of vibes. Excited to see if we win any of the 7 awards we have been nominated for! I still did my make up and wore a sequin dressing gown, because... It’s what Tahani would have wanted. And this is her day, not mine." 

Appearing on E! News pre-show, the star mentioned how she loves to do her make-up and that she did it for Emmys look too. "I've always done my own makeup even on series 'The Good Place'. "I'm obsessive about it." She added, "I'm at my house," she said. "This is the most comfortable I've ever been at the Emmys."

This time, the Emmy Awards is a virtual event due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the theme is informal. A letter from the producers of the show states, "Our informal theme for the night is 'Come as you are, but make an effort! If you want to be in formal wear, we'd love that, but equally, if you're in the UK and it's 3 am, perhaps you want to be in designer pajamas and record from your bed!"

Jamil's look got the Internet talking as soon as her pictures splashed on social media. A user commented below her Instagram picture, “No bra and no heels? That is definitely Emmy Awards EDS style!” Another wrote, “Swooning over this whole look. Comfy yet polished for the win.” A fan wrote on her comfortable style, “I feel like people look their best when they're most comfortable.” Another concurred, “I have been this comfortable watching the Emmy awards my entire life and I am happy that you have joined me.”

Even on Twitter, people loved her no bra, no heels look in pajamas. One said, "No bra, no heels, no problem.’ This should be the official motto of the 2020.” A user wrote, “Jameela Jamil Is Relatable as Hell For the Emmys, Wearing No Bra, No Heels.”
