Emmy Rossum's 'The Crowded Room' co-star Amanda Seyfried helped potty train her children
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a heartwarming revelation, Emmy Rossum, known for her role in 'The Crowded Room,' is leaning on her support system, including co-star Amanda Seyfried, for motherhood advice. The actress recently welcomed her second child in April with husband Sam Esmail, and expressed gratitude for the fellow moms who have been there for her.
Emmy Rossum Turns to Her Mom Tribe
Speaking to E! News, Emmy stated, "I'm so lucky to be supported by other moms and have friendships - not only with my own mom, but with women like Amanda Seyfried, who is literally about to hold my hand on FaceTime through potty training. So, I feel really lucky to be supported by a mom tribe around me."
When asked about her experience as a mother to her son and 22-month-old daughter, Emmy described it as both amazing and challenging. She emphasized the infinite laughter, challenges, and worries that come with the territory. While Emmy showered praise on Amanda for her guidance, the latter jokingly brushed off the title of "potty whisperer," stating, "I won't take that title away from anyone who is, but I am a proud mother of a potty-trained household. We are done with diapers."
Amanda, who shares two children with her husband Thomas Sadoski, expressed pride in her son Thomas, 2, for reaching this milestone and acknowledged the bravery it takes to make such a significant change. "I'm so proud of my boy," Amanda said. "It's so scary - you forget how scary it is to do something so natural in a way that's not natural to you at all. Because you've been doing it one way. Kids show you how incredibly strong we are and brave."
In a separate update, Emmy delighted fans by sharing three adorable black-and-white snapshots of her two-month-old son. The intimate photos featured the 'Shameless' star lovingly cradling her baby while seated on a window seat.
Keeping Privacy Intact
Emmy, who never officially announced her pregnancy, surprised her fans with the sudden birth of her son. She shared the news on April 6, stating, "On a foggy Wednesday morning, our son was born." The acclaimed thespian also shares a two-year-old daughter with her husband Sam Esmail, but has kept both of their children's names private.
A memorable bathtub proposal
Emmy and Sam's love story began in 2013, and they tied the knot in 2017. Reflecting on the proposal, Emmy humorously recalled the moment, saying, "I happened to be in the bathtub when it happened... And then I got out of the bathtub because I didn’t want the story to be that I was in the bathtub when it was happening. And then I got cold as it was still going on, got back in the bathtub. It was a comedy of errors, but it all worked out."
With the unwavering support of her mom tribe, including Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum continues to embrace the joys and challenges of motherhood while cherishing precious moments with her growing family.
'The Crowded Room' will be available to stream on AppleTV+ on June 9.
