LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emma Watson, the celebrated actress is in no hurry to make a comeback anytime soon. In a recent interview, the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ star opened up about her break and why she needed to stay away from acting for a while. "I wasn't very happy if I'm being honest. I think I felt a bit caged. The thing I found really hard was that I had to go out and sell something that I really didn't have very much control over," she told The Financial Times.

Watson further added that "To stand in front of a film and have every journalist be able to say, 'How does this align with your viewpoint?' It was very difficult to have to be the face and the spokesperson for things where I didn't get to be involved in the process.” Sitting along with her brother Alex and father Chris, the 33-year-old further said, "[I was] held accountable in a way that I began to find really frustrating because I didn't have a voice, I didn't have a say. And I started to realize that I only wanted to stand in front of things where if someone was going to give me flak about it."

'Yes, I screwed up'

‘The perks of being a wallflower’ actress continued, "I could say, in a way that didn't make me hate myself, 'Yes, I screwed up, it was my decision, I should have done better.' " As per the Financial Times, Watson can be seen making a return in a film that will begin production in early 2024. She recently made her first directorial short film for a Prada advertising campaign last year.

'Planning to resume studies'

What ‘seemed unattainable’ earlier became a reality, but she refused to take up her second project, "I don't think I had any confidence in that. I know it seems weird. I mean, I grew up on a film set." Watson is also planning to resume her studies and plans to start with a master’s degree in creative writing at Oxford University in September, reports People.
