Emma Stone is engaged to longtime boyfriend Dave McCary. He broke the happy news on Instagram on Wednesday by sharing a photo of the couple smiling as Stone showed off her new ring. The images showed the pair embracing and the ring appears to be a large pearl set alongside some smaller diamonds.

McCary used an emoji to caption the image. According to a source that spoke to People, Stone and McCary, a segment director and writer for 'Saturday Night Live',  started dating in October 2017. They met when the Oscar-winning actress hosted SNL at the end of 2016 and starred in the sketch “Wells for Boys,” which McCary directed.

Stone was in a relationship with Andrew Garfield before McCary and the pair split in 2015 after almost dating for four years. People also said the duo has remained supportive exes and friends since their breakup. In May 2017, Stone visited the actor in London during a break from filming 'The Favourite' while Garfield had been starring in the 25th-anniversary revival of 'Angels in America' at the National Theatre.

Stone gained wider recognition as Gwen Stacy in the 2012 superhero film 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and its 2014 sequel. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing a recovering drug addict in the black comedy, 'Birdman' (2014). The recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award, she was the highest-paid actress in the world in 2017.

According to ET Online, McCary joined SNL as a segment director in 2013, alongside the fellow members of his 'Good Neighbor' sketch group: Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, and Nick Rutherford. Stone, a 2016 Best Actress Oscar winner for 'La La Land', is currently working on 'Cruella', a live-action prequel about the titular dog-hating villain from '101 Dalmatians'.
