SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: The new Twitter Blue, which costs $8 per month and gets you a blue verified check mark, is officially live. The new subscription does away with ad-free articles for Twitter Blue subscribers, but it does adds the same blue and white badge that the platform previously limited it to the verified accounts. However, an account’s verified badge will tell you whether one is a verified public figure or they have bought verification through Twitter Blue.

Following many users paying the fee for blue verification badge, there were others who pointed out why buy Twitter Blue when one can buy something else. One jokingly wrote, "Why buy twitter blue when instead you could buy a frog with a very tiny cowboy hat," while another tweeted, "why buy twitter blue when you buy a Wooper instead." The thread continued with one more user saying, "why buy twitter blue when you could just buy coolmathgames premium."

On the other hand, one of them marketed their product by saying, "why buy twitter blue when you can buy biodegradable golf balls." "Why buy Twitter blue when you can send me 8 dollars every month and I can ignore you like Elon would do (he doesn’t love you)," pointed a user along with a picture of pizza and Mountain Dew. Another user said, "Why buy Twitter Blue when you come over to my Ko-fi and drop me some money towards my goal?"
