Hours after Grimes tweeted about splitting with Tesla CEO Elon Musk for the second time, it is being reported that the singer-songwriter is now dating activist and whistleblower Chelsea Manning. The big news comes almost a day after it was revealed that Grimes and Elon Musk had welcomed their second child named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk in December 2021.
 
According to Page Six, Grimes and Manning are a thing now, and apparently it is getting serious. If the report shared by the publication is to be believed, Grimes and Manning are living together in Austin while the latter still has her apartment in Brooklyn. Social media users quickly thronged to Twitter wondering if the former lover of Elon Musk was lesbian. The Internet also did not shy away from dragging Manning on the micro-blogging site. Is Grimes lesbian?

After her first split with Grimes in September 2021, Grimes had joked about starting a lesbian space commune. In an e-mail interview with Page Six back then the musician stated, “I’ll be colonizing [one of Jupiter’s moons] Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune.” The cheeky response seemingly referred to Musk and his SpaceX’s $178 million contract with NASA to help them reach Jupiter’s ice-crusted moon, Europa, to see if it could be inhabitable.
 
Apart from this, Grimes never really dropped a hint about being lesbian. In fact, she was reportedly papped kissing voice actor and model Noah Centineo at a restaurant in 2021 but nothing really materialized. Circling back to the latest buzz of she dating Manning, the sources told Page Six, “They’re getting serious. They U-Hauled it” adding, “They’ve been living together in Austin.” The two also have been interacting a lot on Twitter off late with the help of likes and replies on Twitter threads. Manning made it to the headlines in early 2010s for leaking hundreds of thousands of documents to WikiLeaks.

Reacting to Grimes dating Manning, one of the users stated, “So basically Grimes is dating a man is a lesbians body. Wait or is it a lesbian in a woman’s body that was a man. I’m confused.” Another chimed in, “MANning is a man. Grimes isn't a lesbian, but she's clearly desperate.” One shared, “Grimes always gave me lesbian vibes tho hmmm.” And, one added, “Chelsea Manning is dating Grimes? So Bradley went through all that surgery just to become a lesbian?”
 
The next one tweeted, “I am living for cursed lesbian power couple grimes x chelsea and if they do not live this relationship out on twitter I simply cannot go on.”  One stated, “Grimes dating Chelsea Manning was definitely not on my 2022 bingo card, but here we are.” Meanwhile, another tweeted, “I cannot believe grimes is dating Chelsea manning. It is absurd to the nth degree.” And, one concluded, “Grimes and Chelsea Manning dating ain't even in the top 10 most unexpected things to happen this year.”
