Who is Elodie Bouchez? Meet 'Daft Punk' star Thomas Bangalter's wife who is a leading French actress

Iconic EDM duo Daft Punk announced their breakup after 28 years of enthralling music lovers across the planet. Much to the heartbreak of millions of fans worldwide, the legendary duo who are known for their award-winning hits shared the news over an eight-minute video, titled 'Epilogue'. 

However, little is known about the personal life of the musicians under their signature robotic helmets. Unknown to many, Daft Punk comprised French musicians Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. And Thomas Bangalter is happily married to leading French actress Elodie Bouchez with whom he shares two sons. Let us find out more about Élodie Bouchez and the star's family life.

Who is Elodie Bouchez?

You might recognize Elodie Bouchez as the femme fatale Renee Rienne from the American spy-fi thriller TV series 'Alias'. And if you are a French film connoisseur, you ought to know her for one of her career-best performances in the acclaimed 1994 film 'Wild Reeds'.

Born on April 5, 1973, in Montreuil-sous-Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis, Ile-de-France in France, Bouchez gained prominence after joining the entertainment industry in 1990. Her debut film was Serge Gainsbourg's 'Stan the Flasher'. Since then, she has starred in a multitude of films, many of which went on to earn global appreciation. 

Bouchez won the Cesar Award for Most Promising Actress for her fourth film 'Wild Reeds' in 1994, for essaying the character of Maite Alvarez. In 1998, her portrayal of Isabelle 'Isa' Tostin in Erick Zonca's 'The Dreamlife of Angels' earned her four leading honors, namely — the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress, the Cesar Award for Best Actress, European Film Award for Best Actress and Lumieres Award for Best Actress. 

Aside from 'Alias', Bouchez also acted in two episodes of another TV series 'The L Word'.

It is unclear exactly when the duo tied the knot, but it is believed that they are in a happy marriage since the early 2000s. The couple, who prefer to remain very private about their personal lives and relationship, are proud parents to two sons. Their elder son, Tara-Jay, was born in 2002 while they welcomed their second son Roxan in 2008, reports Pure People

In 2004, the couple shifted their base to Beverly Hills, California, where Bouchez was pursuing her career in Hollywood and Bangalter wanted to try his hand in filmmaking. Later, they returned to France and settled in Paris, while Daft Punk's creative offices still continue to operate from Los Angeles. In October 2013, the couple was spotted enjoying a sunny beach vacation in Miami, Florida, before they attended singer and friend Pharell Williams' wedding to Helen Lasichanh. 

It remains to be seen now how the couple's life changes following the Daft Punk dissolution.
