Ellen Pompeo reveals she lacks 'stamina' to continue watching 'Grey's Anatomy' with her daughter Stella
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ellen Pompeo feels that it is quite difficult to go through every season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. While talking with a media outlet, the star admitted to being asked whether her children have watched the entire series which has 19 seasons. "Everyone in her class in sixth grade had [watched the show], which I thought was a bit crazy, knowing what's in the first seasons. She was like, 'Mom, I'm the only one who hasn't seen it,'" said Pompeo of her daughter Stella, 12.
The star further revealed "So I said OK. In the summer, she started watching it. And at first, I was like, 'Oh, this is so amazing, and we're going to watch it together.' Then it was episode after episode after episode, and I was like, 'I don't have the stamina for this!'" "I filmed all these episodes; I can't now go back and watch it again. What's interesting is I hadn't watched a lot of Grey's, because we were always working," explained the 53-year-old star, as reported by Variety.

'So I take care of them'
In December 2022 interview on ‘the Drew Barrymore Show,’ Pompeo talked about her children, "I have three kids and so I take care of them, and it's really important for me to be around for them and be more present for them." The actress shares son five-year-old son Eli Christopher, and daughters seven-year-old Sienna May, and Stella with husband Chris Ivery.
Pompeo took a break after the 19th season and later said that she is ‘super happy’ to be able to spend quality time with her children now. Back in 2016, the star addressed the significance of the role in one’s life. She then revealed that as a practice, Pompeo lets her daughters learn about "beautiful, powerful, strong Black women."
'Pompeo keeps her family affairs private'
"My daughters are Black so it's very important to me that they see a lot of images of beautiful, powerful, strong Black women," she told People. "Every time there is a Black woman on a magazine cover, whether it is Kerry Washington or whoever it is, I make sure that magazine is in my house and on my table. For me, that's super important."
Mostly someone who keeps family affairs private, Pompeo chose to bring her entire family to the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Women's Show in Italy in July 2022. She later also delighted her fans by sharing the vacation pictures via her Instagram account.
