Comedian Eddie Murphy is going to become a father for the tenth time. The 57-year-old ‘The Beverly Hills Cop’ star has been dating Paige Butcher, for six years and the couple will welcome their second baby together in December. The pair started dating back in 2012 and already share two-year-old daughter Izzy Oona Murphy.
“Eddie Murphy and longtime girlfriend Paige Butcher are pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child in December,” a representative for Murphy said in a statement.
Simultaneously, Butcher was spotted in LA with a baby bump. The 39-year-old was sporting a floral comfortable pale pink floral maxi dress that accentuated her growing belly. She looked very relaxed with her hair down, wearing flip-flops and sipping on a Starbucks beverage.
The Aussie model has only one child, the daughter she shares with the ‘Shrek’ star. Murphy, meanwhile, has eight other children from four previous relationships.
He had his first son Eric with ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely in 1989 and his second child, son Christian, was born to ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood in 1990. With his ex-wife Nicole Mitchell – who he was married to from 1993 to 2006 — Murphy has five children — Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola and Bella.
He is also father to 11-year-old Angel Iris, whom he had with Scary Spice Mel B. Eddie and Mel B welcomed their daughter together 10 years ago, but her birth was surrounded by controversy, as Eddie demanded a paternity test.
Now it has been claimed in court where Murphy’s lawyer has said, the actor is simply "not interested" in Angel, as Mel’s ex Stephen Belafonte attempts to be granted step-parent visitation with the child.
In a 2016 interview with ET, the actor had gushed about fatherhood. "None of my children are gray and balding,” he cracked, before explaining how he’s raised kids for the last three decades. “It’s just pretty natural. It’s a natural thing.”
"The brightest part of my life is my kids," Murphy continued. "My relationship with them, and my world revolves around them — even the old, gray bald ones," he teased.
