Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn's newborn daughter's UNIQUE name revealed, here's what it means

Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn became parents for the second time as they welcomed their second daughter -- Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran. Fans were ecstatic to hear the news and the unique name has attracted the attention of people from all over the world. The 31-year-old musician, who is currently on a world tour that included five dates at Wembley Stadium, shared that he became a dad for the second time on his Instagram account on May 20. 

The couple kept the pregnancy under wraps. Ed and Cherry's choice of name, which was revealed to The Sun, is thought to have a special meaning for the couple. The couple reportedly only confided in their closest family members about the pregnancy. Ed's spokesperson confirmed, "Ed and Cherry recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl and are on cloud nine. They're so excited for Lyra to have a little sister and the four of them are currently enjoying some precious family time before Ed heads back on tour. We are delighted for them, and we hope that you can respect their privacy at this special time."

The 'Bad Habits' singer posted a photo of a pair of tiny white socks on a brown knitted blanket on his Instagram page. He captioned it, "Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x." The award-winning singer credited fatherhood as "the best thing that’s ever happened to me" in a Sirius XM interview in June, "There’s so many different sides and shades to it. There’s difficult days, there’s amazing, easy days, it’s just a roller coaster of emotions." 



 

The singer went on to note how being has dad has changed his approach to work, saying, "I’m very structured with my day now...usually, if I was in the studio, I would just kind of work until it was done." A source said, "Ed and Cherry loved the name both in terms of what it stands for and its uniqueness. Everyone thinks Jupiter works perfectly for her. Behind closed doors, Cherry has been gushing over becoming a mum again. She and Ed really are a match made in heaven. Their family is beautiful."

Ed used a special Tour Edition of his hit album 'Equals' to commemorate becoming a dad for the first time in 2020. On Welcome to the World, the flame-haired artist sang, "Welcome to the world/ I heard your heartbeat and lost every word. Just stood there quietly taking in the sound/ Of our love."

The special track concludes with an intimate recording of Ed and Cherry feeling their daughter kick. Ed can be heard saying, "You got the kick? Has it actually?" To which, Cherry responds, "Yeah. Have you woken up?"
