The review contains spoilers for 'Dynasty' Season 3 Episode 9 — 'The Caviar, I Trust, Is Not Burned'

Alexis Carrington Colby is back — with a new face, but the same old evil intentions. As 'Dynasty' returns from its winter break, Blake Carrington's (Grant Show) trial continues as Alexis (Elaine Hendrix) shocks the jury with her testimony. Following the scuffle between Adam Carrington (Sam Underwood) and Liam Ridley (Adam Huber), Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) returns to the courthouse to find her mother has returned, newly married to her ex-fiancee, Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke).

Fallon meets Adam to make him realize how angry Blake will be to hear that he set fire to his precious vineyard but Adam says the blame will be on Fallon. Later, when Blake gets a call about his vineyard, he asks Fallon why she burned it down, she tells him to speak to Adam who was actually behind it.

At the courthouse, Jeff’s mother talks to her son and asks him if he was blackmailed to marry Alexis as she is "bad news". But Jeff wants nothing to do with his mother. When Fallon finds out her stepmother is married to Jeff, she asks him why he did it. Once it's time for Alexis to take her seat in the witness chair, she blatantly tells the court how she saw Blake strangle Nathan Macintosh (Jeremy Davidson) with his bare hands. She also adds that he did it because Nathan turned on him after Blake ordered him to kill Cristal’s (Daniella Alonso) lover, Mark Jennings.

Later, Fallon tries to connect with her mother and even asks her father if it is really true. He denies it and tells his daughter how Alexis misinterpreted what he saw. In another scene, Kirby Anders (Maddison Brown) asks Blake what will happen if Fallon learns the truth but Blake has no answer to her question.

Alexis tries to meet Adam but he tells her that he is a Carrington and she is a Colby now, she made her choice. Meanwhile, Fallon makes an attempt to make peace with Alexis and Jeff and asks them about their love story. When the two kiss, Fallon makes an excuse to go to the bathroom to throw up and sneaks into a safe to find her stepmother's agenda.

Meanwhile, Adam tries to set things right with his dad by telling him how Fallon hired Nadia to fall in love with him. Blake, however, calls it the most "ridiculous" thing he has heard and yells at him for destroying his dream vineyard. Meanwhile, Dominique Devereaux (Michael Michele) meets Alexis only to declare war. Alexis returns home to see Jeff with a picture from her Club Colby. Unsure of her intentions, Jeff says, "I need to trust you to play out this arrangement."

Fallon, meanwhile, visits the spa where her mother had an appointment. She gets a spray tan with the same lady for four hours and realizes there was no way her mother could have been back home to see Blake kill Nathan. Back in court, Alexis testifies again and repeats her timeline. When she is asked if she was really there, she says her spray tan only takes one hour. However, Fallon tells the lawyer how Becky’s spray tans take four hours. With no proof, the jury claims the case as a mistrial and declares Blake is free to go.

After Blake thanks Fallon, the latter goes to her stepmother and tells her to let go of her obsession with Blake. Alexis, however, tells her, "Your father is a murderer." When Fallon says how her father told her to her face "he did not kill Mac," ruthless Alexis tells her she is being the "innocent one." Her words leave Fallon in confusion.

Towards the end, Fletcher Myers ( Daniel di Tomasso) and Sam Jones (Rafael De La Fuente) kiss, Adam and Blake have another scuffle about the will and Mac’s family say they won’t file a civil suit if Blake admits his guilt. The episode paves way for more drama and backstabbing as Alexis comes back into the picture. But, it is yet to be seen how long Alexis and Jeff's pretentious marriage lasts.

'Dynasty' airs every Friday at 9 pm ET on The CW.
