Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson marries longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian in secret Hawaiian ceremony
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got married to his longtime girlfriend and the mother of two children, Lauren Hashian, in a secret ceremony in Hawaii, over the weekend.
The 47-year-old wrestler-turned-actor announced the news on his Instagram page, by posting a couple of photos with his wife on the island. In the first photo, Dwayne and Lauren looked elated, throwing their hands in the air and smiling from ear-to-ear. The second snap showed the couple posing against a scenic backdrop as they locked lips.
"We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed)," he captioned the pictures.
Dwayne was dressed in all-white attire - just like his bride - with a partially buttoned shirt, which let his chest tattoos play peek-a-boo. Embracing Hawaiian tradition, he accessorized his outfit with two draped leis.
His 34-year-old partner wore a lace-covered gown with a long veil. In one of the pictures, she was seen clutching a bouquet of flowers.
Although the two share daughters Jasmine, three, and Tia, one, the pair had never expressed the desire to get married. In July 2018, Dwayne cleverly shrugged off a question about marrying Hashian, whom he kept on referring as his "wife."
“I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did you get married?’” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m like, ‘No. Easy. Don’t rush big daddy'.”
Dwayne met singer Lauren for the first time in 2006 while he was filming his movie "The Game Plan." He was married at the time to his first wife, Dany Garcia. He divorced her in 2007 and the two share 18-year-old daughter, Simone.
It is not clear exactly when the two started dating. Dwayne gave a candid interview about Lauren's reaction to his co-star Paul Walker’s death in 2013.
"I was driving with Lauren when she immediately turned very quiet and was looking at me, studying, wondering if I knew," he told Hollywood Reporter. "I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath."
He added: "We said a prayer right then to give his daughter strength — because we had talked about our daughters. That's what we would talk about. Both of us were divorced, and we talked about the power of being a dad and the strong connection of a dad and his girl. Then once we got home, we started bawling."
The couple welcomed their first child together in December 2015 and their second child in April 2018.
