In what comes as shocking news, actor and former WWE champion Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his entire family have been tested positive for the Covid-19. Johnson, his wife Lauren Hashian and their two daughters, Jasmine and Tiana, are reportedly sick from the virus.
The ‘Jumanji’ actor revealed the disheartening news to his 196 million followers on Instagram through an 11-minute-long video on Tuesday, September 2. One could imagine how heart-wrenching this must be for Johnson, considering his unconditional love for his family. In the video, the actor emphasizes, “My No 1 priority is to always protect my family and my loved ones. I wish it was only me that tested positive. It was my entire family and it was a kick in the gut.” Later on, he confirms, “We as a family are good, we’re on the other end of it and no longer contagious. Thank God, we’re healthy.” Johnson and Hashian welcomed their second child Tiana in December last year. Although they got married only a year ago in Hawaii, their love story evolved over the years before they decided to tie the knot. Johnson and Hashian first met in 2006 on the set of ‘The Game Plan’, but started dating only in 2007. The actor was previously married to Dany Garcia. They got divorced in 2007. Johnson feels he was “fortunate” to have found love for the second time and called himself “one lucky son of a b*tch” during an interview with PEOPLE.
In 2015, Johnson told Esquire that he and Hashian had been living together for “like, eight to nine years now”. But the actor maintained a lot of privacy surrounding his personal life and often chose to only talk about his profession on public platforms. However, their relationship received a great deal of public attention when the couple welcomed their first daughter, Jasmine, a week before Christmas in 2015. Bringing a child to this world with Hashian was defined as a “miracle” by the actor. In a long Instagram post, Johnson shared, “I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible.”
Furthermore, Johnson has admitted that he and Hashian have “the greatest relationship” because they are always surrounded by laughter in each other’s company. He told PEOPLE, “First of all, she teases me about everything. Everything. Nothing is off-limits in our house. And it’s the beauty of it. And I tease her with everything.” The couple welcomed their second daughter, Tiana, in December 2019. The actor made the big announcement through an adorable Instagram post featuring his first daughter Jasmine.
