"You loved us with the capacity of which you could - given all the givens. Raised me with an iron hand and tough complicated love. A love that now, as a father and man, I’ve learned to refine as I raise my own children," he continued.

Johnson further wished that he had "one more shot. To say one more thing. You were taken too fast. Slipped right through my hands. But you were so loved, lived so full, defined culture and now you rest high. Peacefully."

He ended his eulogy by saying, "I love you and now I have an angel to call by name. I’ll see you down the road, Soulman. Till we meet again." he news was confirmed by World Wrestling Entertainment in a statement that read, "WWE is saddened to learn that Rocky 'Soul Man' Johnson (born Wayde Douglas Bowles), a WWE Hall of Famer, former World Tag Team Champion, and father of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, has passed away at age 75.”

After making a name for himself in wrestling, Rocky decided to retire in 1991. However, he was still connected to it through his son as he took him up as a student. Rocky was hesitant to let Johnson into wrestling but finally agreed on the condition that he would not be easy on him. The two shared a strong bond over the years.
