Kate Middleton had the sweetest friendship with Harry, fears they might never be close again: 'She misses him'
Buckingham Palace has reportedly been in crisis mode ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their bombshell decision to step down as senior royals. According to one royal insider, since then it is the Duchess of Cambridge who has come to the royal family's rescue!
Kate Middleton is trying her best to navigate the rift in her family and is pushing herself to the limit in order to fulfill her royal obligations. “She barely has time to rest, and when she does try to sleep, her mind is constantly racing,” an insider revealed to Us Weekly.
Amid the crisis, the 38-year-old royal is also mourning the loss of her close friendship with Harry, 35. According to the insider, the Duchess has been crying behind closed doors over how distant she and her beloved brother-in-law have become following Megxit. “She wishes she could speak to Harry. She misses him and fears she’ll never be close to him again," the source added.
Now that Prince Harry and Meghan are starting their new life in Canada with their 8-month-old son Archie, the burden of royal responsibilities has doubled for Kate and her husband Prince William.
The mother-of-three sometimes works 18 hours a day, according to the insider. “She’s already stretched pretty thin,” the source said, “and now she’s really worried about how she’ll juggle the extra workload on top of her family life.”
The Duchess of Cambridge has allegedly not spoken to Meghan since the royal exit, and their relationship has only deteriorated, the insider said, adding that "they couldn’t be further apart."
Having said that, it recently emerged that Prince Charles and Prince Williams have reportedly been "reaching out" to the Sussexes with "love and affection on standby." The princes are believed to be eager to let the Sussexes know that they are welcome to return to the UK without having to resume their official royal duties, a source close to the royal household told The Sunday Times.
