NFL star Duane Brown, who is currently a free agent, was arrested over the weekend at LAX airport. A video was shared by TMZ Sports that showed the offensive tackle being taken by LAPD. According to reports, the 36-year-old got in trouble during a routine screening at the airport.
 
A few other NFL stars too made news for the wrong reasons after they got arrested for different reasons. In January 2022, NFL player Malik McDowell was arrested after he got naked in public and beat up a police officer. In the same month, former NFL star Austin Seferian-Jenkins had a run-in with the law after he got behind bars for domestic abuse. Another former NFL star Mark Walton, got in trouble after he got arrested in March 2022 for an alleged armed robbery that took place in Miami. Walton and an accomplice reportedly pulled a gun on a person and demanded they give him “everything.”

Why was NFL star Duane Brown arrested?

According to TMZ Sports, Duane Brown, who is one of the top 10 free agents, was arrested on gun charges at LAX airport. He allegedly tried to go through TSA with an unloaded gun in his luggage. The publication reported that the weapon was found in Brown’s bag during routine screening at the airport. Cops were called in and he was then escorted to a cop car before being taken to the Los Angeles Police Department to be booked.
 
Reports suggest that the incident took place at LAX’s Terminal six and that during the standard screening procedure, one of Brown’s bags carried the unloaded firearm. The news of Duane Brown getting arrested was further confirmed by LAX Airport Police, as shared in a tweet by an ABC correspondent. The tweet read, “LAX Airport Police confirm arrest of former Seattle Seahawks OT and free agent Duane Brown for allegedly having a concealed gun at terminal 6 security screening.”

A tweet shared by an individual on Twitter spilled the beans on the bond, Brown has to pay after getting arrested on gun charges. The post revealed that Brown will have to shell out a $10K bond for the possession of a concealed weapon. While sharing an image, the individual’s tweet read, “$10K bond on the possession of a concealed weapon charge for Duane Brown after an unloaded weapon was found in one of his bags passing through TSA at LAX.”

Duane Brown spent the previous five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL star was originally acquired by the team midway through the 2017 season in a trade with the Houston Texans. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll April revealed that they were still talking to Brown, as reported by USA Today. General manager John Schneider suggested Brown could be waiting until training camps opened to sign a deal. For the unversed, Duane Brown played for Houston Texans for the first 10 seasons of his career before making a move to the Seahawks.
